About Me

Hey! I am Elise, 26 years old, from Chicago, IL. I tour with a band from known as Red Francis from Chicago! We are currently on our third tour and once this leg is complete we will have seen almost the entire continental US together! My job with the band is to make sure we are on time, fed, and happy - and what would make us happier than meeting you?!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing to help break up the monotony of sleeping in Wal-Mart and Planet Fitness parking lots with these three stinky boys :) Don't get me wrong, i am in this for the adventure - not the glamour. However, there is much to be said about making new friends, in a new city, while also drooling on their couch.

Interests

Besides working with this exceptionally talented musicians? I love to write, paint, and have a new fondness for weaving. I am a part-time comedian, a lover of karaoke, a pretty excellent breakfast cook, and am pretty excellent at checkers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love rock n roll, blues, soul, disco, motown - anything that will allow me to shake my butt.

My all time favorite movie is True Romance - that movie has EVERYTHING. If you have not seen it, we will watch it together.

When it comes to books, my tastes come in all varieties, some of my favorites include: Neil Gaiman, Junot Diaz, and Tom Robbins. I also love memoirs, recently I have read memoirs by Patti Smith, Carrie Brownstein, and Judith Moore

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a lot of things, hard to call them amazing. I do love to travel, and most of that traveling is done by van with these boys all over the country. Last summer we travelled for 5 1/2 weeks, by van, all over the west coast. It was about 100 degrees for 4/5 weeks, in a van with no a/c. Amazingly, no one fought, argued, or lost controll. We all kept our cool, no matter how sticky and gross we felt. We might not have smelled the best, but we made it work together.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: We can certainly teach you a song or two, how to handle a shot of Malort (a Chicago classic), and ghow to make a Blart cake - the epitome of tour cuisine.

We love to learn about each city that we are in, the people that come from there, what is happening in that place, and whatever locals like to do. We do not get to spend much time in each city, so it is nice to get a grasp of the city via it's people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music, jokes, laughter, a piece of art, a piece of fruit, a drink, stories, and awkward car ride, a spot waiting for the bathroom... the possibilities are endless!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico, United States
