About Me

On a journey of spirituality and healing, love yoga, meditation, ethical eating habits- moving away from materialism and an escapist lifestyle. Deep reflection and journeying, after years of searching for the path I finally feel connected to the cosmos and even though the road has many intersections still to be traversed I wake up excited for every day, the lessons it brings; good, bad, ugly, nervewracking, amazing and every other adjective you can think of. Trying to let go of the ego of self and approach all these scenarios without judgement and an open heart and mind.
What brought me here? So many things, it would be hard to tell them all, but essentially I lived and worked as a teacher in Bangkok Thailand, I met so many inspirational life loving people which spurned me on to a journey of self growth and development that I never thought would take me to where I am today. Taking a risk, I quit my amazing job in that beautiful country - Kop Kum Mai Ka Thailand- Chan Rak Makk na Ka- and moved home to London for a difficult year of re-training and processing, before leaving again with my partner to make a new life in Australia. Here I have found myself working in the most gorgeous surrounding of Lamington National Park- think the last rainforest - Ferngully- and that's basically my home. Being surrounded by nature has bought me back to Gaia, mother earth, something I never knew I had lost. I became re-connected with the world and community around me, and can't think of a better place to take a break from all the stress of organising weddings and continue my journey than Bali. I hope this trip will further my Spiritual journey connect me with like minded souls, enable me to relax and let go and soar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Previously I think I have used couchsurfing as an affordable way to travel and hopefully meet some cool people who know great places. However this trip I'm a different person in a different place, I'm looking to connect with people who feel my vibe, to meet like minded individuals and become part of the global community and it's consciousness. I feel deeply that we can change our world, our circumstances, and with an open mind and open heart we can connect, inspire and enlighten others. I hope to meet people I can practice yoga with whatever level, I can meditate with, learn from and continue my spiritual growth and be part of theirs also. Ultimately create bonds that stretch across the seas, link us and our consciousness to be part of changing the world, breaking free from the bullshit of society and embracing all the best parts of our human nature.
Oh and it doesn't have to be a constant soul searching "heavy salad" I like to get drunk, dance, shop and eat great food too.
Hope to see you all soon brothers and sisters, peace x

Interests

Travel has always been my passion, perhaps it's my Irish background, or my mum taking us backpacking when I was just 18months old. I live and breath the wonder from new places, and the energy that is generated by realising how big the world is and how unique every individual that lives on mother earth is.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books; Anything from classics like Far from the madding crowd, to sci fi and fantasy, currently Reading Book 4 'The Shadow Rising' from the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series, honestly can't believe I've not read them before! Love Brandon Sanderson, and Brent Weeks, just finished Jack Kerouack's On The Road, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas blew my mind. Books are definitely my jam, always open to new recommendations and have a whole host of knowledge to offer across multiple genres!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm training for an Iron Man- and completed a Half distance in Phuket 3 years ago, it's amazing to me because I'm not a long distance athlete, I've always been a sprinter, whether swimming or running, in fact I seriously rebelled against exercise for awhile, before I became a teacher and that's how the challenge came about. I wanted to do something I didn't think was achievable so that I could inspire the kids to set their goals higher and not be hard on themselves or impatient with the process.
I think it's pretty amazing that I moved from the city to the rainforest too- next step is to overcome some of those deep routed fears. Bunjeeeeeee

What I Can Share with Hosts

Philosophy, energy, experience, healthy living, I just want to get out there and meet people, people who challenge you, change you, enhance you, and hope to do the same along the way. We're all on a journey and every journey is unique and individual, finally I feel as if I learnt to be able to enjoy every step (okay there are of course some days where the world feel like its out to eat you) but if I can share how I got to this point, and connect with people maybe we can all appreciate our path. Inspire, create, challenge and change.
