About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep on growing mentally, physically, spiritually. To be very open to new experiences, ideas, people, and to make new friends! :)

ABOUT ME

I like to think I am very open-minded, creative, honest, patient, respectful, considerate, compassionate, w/ a good sense of humor, a good communicator, very curious, lots of imagination, a little mischievous, a little silly, a bit of a perfectionist, but always well-intentioned & genuine. :)

Right now, I'm interested in forging more meaningful social connections with people from all over, as I really love to learn from, share with, and help others whenever possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmm, I have quite a few personal philosophies! Here are some things that come to mind at the moment though...

-Be grateful, don't take anything for granted.

-It's WAY more fun to be playful & ridiculous, than being a serious no-nonsense adult all the time.

-Try to make the best of any situation, no matter how difficult. (The best lessons learned are often the most difficult)

-Make it better than the way you found it, if possible.

-Always keep an open mind and an open heart.

-The 4 Agreements: 1) Be impeccable with your word. 2) Don’t Take Anything Personally. 3) Don’t Make Assumptions. 4) Always Do Your Best.

-Be completely unflinchingly honest with yourself no matter how much it can really suck sometimes to discover the truth.

-& finally, to quote Operation Ivy: "All I know is that I don't know nothin'."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A little surfing only so far, but hoping to set up my new place soon so I can host also :)

Interests

My interests are kind of all over the place! The things I enjoy doing most are usually related to learning to develop new skills and creativity by working on various art projects - but in no particular order, I also really love: reading, riding motorcycles, learning French, self-improvement, environmental-improvement, weird esoteric info, animals, children, nature/being in beautiful natural environments, thrifting, fixing things, vintage items & fashions, music, dancing awkwardly, visiting museums (art and science are the best!), learning about other cultures, doing the unexpected, random acts of kindness, random acts of silliness, pondering the meaning of everything, of nothing, & other mysteries of life and the Universe, Iyengar yoga, astronomy, astrology, swimming, kayaking, synchronicity, asking questions, dinosaurs, and of course.. traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books

While I do like the occasional movie now and again, I don't watch them very regularly. I don't own a TV either, as I feel it is a pretty big waste of time that I can use in more productive & meaningful ways. I'm a pretty big sucker for listening to good informative podcasts though. :)

I love music of all kinds, and I am always interested in recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I beat out all the other sperm on the mad dash to my mom's ovum & lived to tell the tale. To me, being alive is fundamentally the most amazing thing there is. How fortunate we are!

I once saw a pair of frozen men's underwear break laws of physics by breaking a massive glass store-front window.

I accidentally jumped a sizable embankment on the freeway riding my motorcycle at 90MPH and didn't crash, I did need to change my own pair of unfrozen underwear afterwards though.

I lived in Australia for 8 months and never once saw a dingo take any babies.

Oh crap.. that's like 4 things isn't it? Shhh.. nothing to see here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can probably teach or help others about pretty much anything I have listed above in my interests field. I can also share a few pretty good raw food recipes. :)
