About Me

Hello! My name is Elīza and I am a 20-year-old student from Latvia. I just finished my first year of university in audiology, but I've been learning music professionally for 15 years and still participate in different musical projects, while also doing some music theory tutoring and trying to make myself keep playing the piano. Besides all of the music stuff, I also enjoy travelling with my friends, cooking, reading and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like I said - I really like meeting new people, I'm open and very interested in seeing different lifestyles, mindsets and cultures. When travelling, I'm not that interested in the tourist attractions. I think that having some advice and hidden gems from the locals makes the trip much more exciting and authentic.
I have used couchsurfing once before, last summer on a trip to Italy and it was such a great experience! We will be staying with our host once again this summer. So I have made my own profile and would love to be a part of this community! I cannot host of offer a place to stay myself, but if you come to Latvia, I'd be happy to meet up and hang out or give some local insight.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really have a favourite anything and my taste is changing all the time, but I like aesthetic films or films with an exciting, unpredictable plot. I enjoy all kinds of music - free jazz, classical, indie, rock, hip hop, soul... My favourite literature includes some classic Agatha Christie stories, a latvian book "Kalendārs mani sauc". At the moment I'm reading "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari, which I find very interesting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't think of a specific thing, but it could be one of the multiple weird recipes from the internet my friends and I've made. But I am very grateful of all the opportunities, experience and amazing things life has given me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about my country Latvia and its' traditions, teach you some Latvian words. Also maybe some music theory basics and how to play something on the piano.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm open to have a conversation about almost anything!
