About Me
Hey there!
My name is Beth. I'm from Nashville, Tennessee but I only recently started actually liking country music. I'm studying abroad in Brno, Czech Republic for a few months and trying to visit as many beautiful villages, towns and cities in Europe as I can before I have to return to finish my bachelor's degree in International Relations!
After I graduate, I'll *probably* get my master's in Social Work.. or Non-Profit Management... or International Development... or.... yeah, you get the picture... Whatever I end up studying, I hope to eventually work for a few small non-profits that are truly making a difference in their local communities. I have specific passions for people experiencing homelessness, children in the foster care system, global gender equality, cross-cultural communication, and anything else that tugs on the heart strings (yep, you guessed it... I cry easily at sappy things. It's sad but true!).
At home when I'm not reading/listening to music/people watching at a coffee shop, you can find me hanging out with friends/family, babysitting, procrastinating almost all my assignments til the last possible minute, drinking wine, or volunteering with 10-12 year olds at my church (yes, that annoying but oh so endearingly awkward age group).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's easy to look at a village, town or city and see only the attractions.. beautiful views or buildings, etcetera. That becomes a whole lot more meaningful when you are open to meeting new people from all over the world.
My current mission is to *slow down*, to reflect upon the beauty of each place I visit, and to NEVER again leave a city without conversing with the people there. Be them fellow visitors or locals, sharing stories while traveling is one of the best ways to make lasting memories.
I'm brand new to Couchsurfing, but the thing I look forward to most is the possibility of broadening my worldview by sharing meals, conversations, drinks and more with total strangers who are just as passionate about traveling, cross-cultural understanding, and worldwide acceptance of cultures as I am :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh goodness.... these things change every day, and if I stay with you I will need you to recommend some new music! I finally got into country music a few months ago so you can usually find me listening to Thomas Rhett, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban (y'all... I met him once and gave him hand sanitizer. #NoJoke), and that one country song Justin Timberlake put out just to confuse everyone (is anyone else as confused as me there? Also, does anyone in Europe actually listen to country music? These are questions I have...).
I love book series because the story doesn't have to end so soon, and of course my favorite will *Always* be Harry Potter. Otherwise, I genuinely love to read everything and can probably get into any book!
Movies... I like movies but I don't watch a lot of them!
Teach, Learn, Share
I bring an open mind and a love for food!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not a huge party person but I enjoy going out if there's good company.
I like to cook, and especially to bake!
I'm an easy adapter, and a clean and respectful guest. Thank you for looking at my profile!
