Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Liz Hirschauer and I am 25 years old. For the past 2 years, I was living and working in Daegu, South Korea as an English teacher. I am an avid traveler and over the years have realized it is my one and true passion. I've traveled to 50+ countries and have dreams of visiting many more.
I am a very outgoing person who loves to explore, talk, read, learn, shop, eat good food and drink good beer! I could never turn down a good meal and conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm Couchsurfing to meet local people when I travel and get to learn more about the culture of which ever country I'm wandering through. While traveling I've realized how staying in hostels/hotels limits you so much in your opportunity to meet and chat with locals. I love to see how the locals live and hope meeting a host through Couchsurfing can offer me that!

Music, Movies, and Books
I got heavy into reading middle of 2018 and have been addicted ever since. I really love historical fiction, traveling books and suspense/thrillers. A few of my favorite books to date are: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, A Thousand Splendid Suns, A Spark of Light, A Woman in the Window. My Kindle comes with me everywhere and is one of my best friends lol.
I like all kinds of music ranging from country to hip-hop depending on my mood.
I love movies, but don't watch many on my own at all. My friends always tease me about my absolute lack of knowledge in anything related to the entertainment industry and celebrities lol. My top 3 movies are : The Greatest Showman, Prisoners, and Captain Phillips.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sleeping under the stars in the Sahara desert.
Hiking to see wild elephants in the jungle in Cambodia.
Move across the world to South Korea to teach English.
Go canyoneering through waterfalls in the Philippines.
Backpack Europe for 3 months.
Hike the Great Wall of China.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share American culture and a bit of South Korea's as well. I've got plenty of stories about traveling and different things that have happened to me in my lifetime. My mom always told me I could make best friends with a wall because I can relate to and make friends with just about anyone :)
