About Me

Aloha friends! My name is Elizabeth and I'm over on the mainland from Molokai, Hawaii. I currently reside in Hawaii and came over to the states for my cousin's wedding and to visit my family. I am wrapping up a visit to Sedona & am heading to L.A. (I fly out of LAX). I have lived in Montana (guide in Yellowstone), India, Toronto (love, love Toronto), and Oregon. I am a certified crisis & suicide counselor and work in Social Services for the state plus volunteer through several organizations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friends in Hawaii and mainland have hosted for a few years and we have had a blast helping host interesting people from near and far. I have made some amazing friends through the process. I thought it would be fun to be on the other side and do the surfing. When coming to L.A. I would like a different experience than staying at a hostel which is what I usually do while traveling. I am really looking forward to new art & culture. I have heard Santa Monica & Venice are good for galleries. Just a few reasons why!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most music especially classical. Movies all genres. Books everything from Russian literature to Anais Nin to Deepak Chopra, etc. Reading & listening to music are two of my favorite past times!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a cave while learning ancient hula from elders. I am not native Hawaiian so for the Kapunas to share their culture was a huge honor.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sometimes a teacher. Always a student. I have stories & recipies to share. ps. Always am willing to help with a yard project or help out with a 'spring cleaning'!
