About Me
I'm a proud Texan who loves to travel. I love learning the history of places, trying new foods, seeing all the different kinds of architecture, and experiencing new adventures.
I've found that the best way to really experience and understand a place is contingent on interacting and meeting locals, and since I'm a huge bookworm I love to read books about the countries I visit. It's actually a personal project I'm working on, reading at least two books on every country in the world. ( one nonfiction, and one fiction that has to be written by a citizen of that country) so I appreciate all recommendations!
I'm on a kick to make all my favorite desserts gluten free. I'm very outgoing and love to cook and bake! We could do it together! I also love cats, and will happily share pictures of my own feline, Genghis Khan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm going to Europe for a month in the fall, before starting a new job in January. I'm hoping to find a travel buddy. Because eating alone is no fun. Unless it's in a coffee shop in a city and there's really good people watching.
I'll probably be traveling fairly quickly, so I am hoping that staying with locals can allow me to see another side of the cities I've dreamed of seeing since I was a little girl. I've seen such a difference in how I experienced a country based on if I knew a local there or if I was just off on my own. I'm hoping that Couchsurfing will allow me to meet the locals and talk to them. I'm also not really into partying and would much rather just hang out with my host ( if they have time of course!)

Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to teach anyone colloquial Southern phrases, or how to hand embroider. I also have experience in translating, should you need something translated into English.
I want to learn all about the place I'm visiting, so I hope you don't mind questions! I majored in political science in college so I love hearing about the political climate of a country.
I can share good stories, Cajun seasonings, and/or the inevitable large stash of food I will be carrying.
Depending on when I stay with someone during the month there is a possibility of there being homemade sweets. ( I promise empires will fall in the face of my mother's pecan pie bars.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Baked goods, stories, I can also braid your hair to match Game of Thrones characters!
Also an invitation to celebrate a quintessential "American" Thanksgiving with me and my family. But actually I'm being totally serious we love having guests.
