About Me
Hello! Hola! Salut! Oi! أهلا
My name is Elizabeth and I’m 21 years old. I just graduated with a bachelor’s in international studies (background in anthropological methodology) and Hispanic studies (all literature!) from Trinity College in Hartford. I’m currently living in Hidalgo, Mexico as an English teaching assistant.
My origins are Ecuadorian and Greek, but I was born in the United States and also have Belgian citizenship. I love traveling, learning languages, and sharing stories. I am also politically engaged, and there is no room for narrow-mindedness, hate, and discrimination here. I like to listen to new ideas and sometimes challenge them. I'm very open-minded and adventurous... will always say yes to trying new foods. In general, I'm always looking for new experiences that overstep my comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I would like to meet local people to make new friends and get the best recommendations for the places that I visit. I hope to connect with more people through this app. This is the best way to learn, unlearn, and come to mutual understandings through cross-cultural experiences.
I also want to distance myself from the mainstream tourism industry and find spaces and meet people that truly tell the story of a place.
Two summers ago, I hosted a Couchsurfer for the first time and it was a great experience. We walked around Hartford, CT and had a lovely chat over coffee at one of my favorite coffee shops. This was my Couchsurfing debut and I hope to host more people in the future when I have my own space! I use it because I believe its a beautiful thing to make connections with and learn from people from all over the world.
