About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take things one step at a time
ABOUT ME
I'm one of many people in the area who moved to the bay to work as an engineer in the semiconductor/tech industry. I have been moving around a bit the past several years for school, different internships, and jobs but hope to find a place I can settle for a bit.
I lived in Chicago for most of my life, did some research internships, spent a year in southern France teaching English (as a high school TA) and went to the University of Delaware to do solar/photovoltaics/energy research. I'm pretty simple and easygoing, a bit on the quiet side at times but I enjoy listening and learning from diverse groups of people.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short to be unhappy.
A person once told me 'think with your heart, and your mind will follow'.

Music, Movies, and Books
I haven't read or seen much lately but some of my favorite movies and books are...
Pan's Labyrinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Life is Beautiful, the Matrix, Lord of the Rings (the book and movie), Catcher in the Rye, Pride and Prejudice, L'Etranger, Hamlet, Siddhartha, Fight Club
Oh, I just saw Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis and thought it was really funny. I'd really like to meet people from that region now =)
No luck with the original version of count of monte cristo yet but I like the movie and I'd like to read it someday -maybe in english first.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Through couchsurfing and traveling/living in different places, I've had many amazing experiences but I'll keep my original thoughts below back from when I didn't know about CSing and spontaneous travel.
Stayed up all night in a park with my sister in Carcasonne, France on Bastille day (July 14th) 2003. A very memorable night with fireworks and meetings with interesting people. A group of teenagers offered us bottles of coca cola but we didn't have a bottle opener to drink them. It tasted good two weeks later though.
I also got to sing in Carnegie Hall with my former choir but was just lucky to be apart of the experience..
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I initially wrote this when I was in France so not sure what interesting knowledge I can share here but I have a science/engineering background if that may be useful for you, I know a decent amount of French and basic Vietnamese, and can help w lunch/dinner or make a simple Vietnamese dish if ingredients are available :)
Learn: Anything that interests you.. I would love to learn a bit of every language and my French still needs a lot of improvement. I would also really like to learn how to play guitar someday.
Share: your culture, experiences which have shaped your life, and dreams for the future.
If you have travel recommendations, I would love to hear them. I personally have spent most of my life in Chicago, several months in Paris and in southern France, Montana (Bozeman), and California (by SF and southern California) and have also visited several other cities in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. If you'd like to know more about my experiences, feel free to ask.
