About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live deliberately, and see if I could not learn what it is life had to teach.
ABOUT ME
There is so much world to see and I am always up for a trip to the beach, the mountains, the rainforest. Traveling has taught me so much about myself and I'm looking forward to learning more and having lots of adventures.
Except for the occasional get away trip, I am an urban dweller...I love the buzz of big cities, New York in particular.
I am a thinker, first and foremost, with analytical tendencies. I like to read and write about lots of different things, from religion to philosophy to cook books. I consider myself a good communicator, correspondingly, I love to dance.
I try not to take myself too seriously. I love to dance to all kinds of music but have a fair bit of experience swing dancing. I have a silly sense of humor, and I like the Muppets and corny jokes. I love animals and have owned many wonderful pets, most recently two large dogs who are my best friends.
My first stop in a new city is often a modern art museum, followed by a place to get chocolate.
PHILOSOPHY
I am in many ways a hedonist; I enjoy good wine, fine art, warm days and rainstorms. I am easy going, and believe most people are good and deserve the benefit of the doubt. I am a work in progress, I hope you are too.
I believe in mutual respect and universal compassion, as universal as possible.
I think you get what you ask for and you only live once, so I'm always up for adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted folks before and been hosted by wonderful people. I am currently on a road trip across the US with my border collie Ringo.
I am very grateful to anyone who opens their home to me and I try to make it a positive experience for both of us.
I would of course love any help in getting to know a new place but I do not need to be entertained and am happy to spend time on my own.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted and was hosted while I lived in Italy. Recently returned to surfing after taking a break.
Interests
Dancing, politics (I'm toward the progressive side), Broadway plays, cooking large and overly complex meals for no particular reason, animals, chocolate, old movies, mountains, beaches, rain, movies that make you think, spicy food, live music
I am also a licensed massage therapist.

I am a licensed, and if I do say, a good, massage therapist and I am happy to demonstrate and teach those skills. I am also familiar with a number of Eastern therapies.
I am very good in English (and have some basic Italian and pretty good Spanish) and would be happy to swap language lessons.
I would love to learn more about cooking, dancing, other languages, and music.
