CURRENT MISSION
Live every day joyfully!
ABOUT ME
oolala...a tough question that is usually answered by an examination of the things one does...but I will try to stay away from that and just say I am a person who, though at times indecisive, is ready to experience life and LIVE IT..but not without a little responsibility and compassion....
That was pretty vague so i might as well add that I adore tennis, all types of different foods especially Indian & thai...and excluding raw meat, pickles, and straight black coffee (one needs the lait et sucre!)....also I love to walk, ride or rollerblade places...public transportation is pretty hot too, especially buses since being above ground has its advantages! I have a very tall husband who is a world traveler and appreciates the couchsurfing community...I also believe in our responsibility as part of creation to take care of our environment for the future as well as for the present poor who usually have no choice but to live in more difficult living conditions. Anything else you should know shall be revealed at a local cafe in town or during a couchsurfing voyage:) Hope to talk to you soon :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Im spreading the news that couchsurfing is the new way to travel, meet fellow travelers, open your mind, learn new things and give back to the community!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started couchsurfing in Belgium a few years ago, and fell in love with it! It wasn't sketchy at ALL: people were overly hospitable, helpful, open and generous! Ive couchsurfed in Strasbourg, Amsterdam, different parts of South Korea, Shanghai, London, Rabat...and now have moved to California where we have a couch now, literally...ONE BIG couch :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I absolutely LOVED taking the longer hike on the great WALL of china...and then ZIP LINING over this lake at the end! SO unexpected and FUN!
Took an 18 hour boat ride to a small remote village in Mahabana, Madagascar: and adored getting to know the local people, especially seeing how their lives have changed exponentially since being employed by Eden Reforestation Projects (edenprojects.org) where they have reforested the coast and have been paid a fair wage!
Drank coffee made the ethiopian way in Addis Abba...roasted coffee beans, crushed, then boiled, steeped, and sipped from little glasses filled with lots of sugar...mmmm!
Going to the DMZ in Korean and feeling the sobering reality of the war that is in a stalemate when met with guns pointed at us from the North Korean side.
Rennes' accordian music festival was a mix of african and french traditional and modern music....probably the most interesting weekend of free concerts I've ever seen, and absolutely LOVED IT!
The Magical Musical Fountain at Ilsan Lake Park outside Seoul on line 3 metro (1 hour northWest of Downtown)
Amazing shops full of christmas ornaments all year long in Strasbourg, France...known as the christmas town I believe....
but honestly what made THIS small town was the couch surfing couple we stayed with! THEY ROCKED!!!!!!
Seeing witches all over Italy around christmas time...crosscultural experience :)
Drinking "Morrocan Wiskey" at all times of the day....aka MINT TEA ! My favorite drink by far!
Riding a camel...with one hump.
Couchsurfing in Amsterdam...4 people in a PHD students' studio...sleeping on a couch and laughing more than I've ever laughed before! Experience to remember!
16 hour layover in Nairobi gave us ENOUGH time for a full out 6 hour safari where we saw Lions on the hunt, gazelle prancing, giraffes lounging, and zebras grazing!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Love sharing stories with others- listening to others and sharing my own journey... Share in laughter & conversation over good food, wine or a simple hot latte;)
