ABOUT ME

I am a retired teacher/librarian, current bicyclist, hiker, occasional trail guide in Greece. I have lived in Turkey, Portugal, Greece, and Germany. I spend as much time in nature as I can. I love the Mediterranean. I have lots of stories but I won't force them on you: travel tips about beaches (and a shark), camping (once tented through a hurricane... unintentionally). I'm friendly, enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories. No bad habits, easy to get along with.

To help and be helped as we travel near and far. I cannot accept guests during the summer of 2019, as I will be "on the road," and moving.

Interessen

People. And nature, travel, hiking, bicycling, camping, and beaches. Also music, all types, especially live music. Oh yes, and food - love different cuisines (I'm a "vegetarian that breaks for cultural experiences," that is, not a strict or full-time vegetarian).

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

One thing? Well then, the werewolf in Portugal: It was a dark and stormy night... we were watching TV when we heard loud growling outside... and then the silhouette of a giant, snarling wolf appeared on the glass of our door, standing upright, very real and very angry... there was some screaming (mine), a very small amount of bravery (ditto), and a discovery of mythic scope, shared by all.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I try to share some happiness everywhere I go. I have survived some very bad things without losing my optimism, my cheer, my hopes for humankind and the natural world; I am not "pushy" but I try to communicate optimism and good cheer wherever I go.

I would like to hear your ideas and your experiences. I'm a good guest, respectful and glad to share in chores, etc. As I said above, I have a jillion stories to tell, but I won't force them on you.
