Hello,
I am Ella and I am currently travelling with Maxime by bike.
We plan to ride between Grenoble in France to Japan. We choose to cycle in Eurasia for many reasons. First, we love bikes and discover the world with the bike speed. We have already done many bike’s trips (France, Hungarian, Germany, and Austria) and we got enthusiastic about it. Now, we want to see more and discover the cultures and traditions of other countries. We choose to go to Japan because my previous roommate was Japanese and is back to Japan. So we can visit her! Maxime is also really interested in the Japanese culture and always dreamed to visit this country.

Ella, 24 years old.
I grew up in Paris and I discover bike when I was 17 years old. I use it first to go to high school and then I realised my fist bike trip with 2 friends when I was 18 years old. From this time, I never leave my bike.
I finished to study Urbanism in the University Pantheon Sorbonne last year and I worked for a regional Park (Parc naturel regional de Chartreuse) for one years. My job was to help people to reduce their energy consumption, both for house and transport, and less pollute.
As for hobbies, I like sport and I go climbing or swimming every week. I also like mountaineering and hiking. Maxime and I both really like to cook and discover new recipes. We will be happy to cook French food for you or cook something with you.
I was scout chief for 3 years and it is an important part of my life. I would be very happy to meet other scouts in the country I am visiting.
I like to play games, like board game or outside game. It is often a good moment and good occasion for laughing!
Maxime, 27 years old
I grew up in Grenoble (French Alpes) and have always used a bike as a transportation tool. I did some bicycle vacation with my family and then with friends. Since two years I have been involved in bicycle repair assocations and would be pleased to learn more about mechanic. After studying (geography, history, philosophy, ecology, ...) I worked in public and parapublic administration for the protection of the environnement. Lately my job was to buy lands from private owners to turn them into protected area.
I like to learn new things and discover different way of life. I have been taking Chinese-Mandarin courses prior to the travel and am always pleased to learn a new language. Visiting historical monuments and museum is one of my hobbies. I also practice mountain sports and love playing games.

We both want to meet local people during our trip and share moments with our host. But if you are busy at the present time we would also be very happy to get only a warm shower and a place on the sofa ;)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

My parents raise my with the ideas of hospitality (they were at servas, an old association like couchsurfing when internet did not exist).
For me it is normal to meet local peaple when I am travelling, even it is not with couchsurfing and I love to share sport experience and cooking.
