About Me

Hello everyone!

I'm Ella, a smiling and open-minded person who loves learning new things, making genuine connections with the people I meet, and laughing at absolutely everything.
I've spent the last few years traveling very slowly in Europe, mostly working in wonderful hostels for many months at a time - here I got to meet new and fascinating people every day (my favourite!), learn about different cultures and generally engage in "armchair traveling": people came to the hostel and told me about their home countries, then left again only to be replaced by more great people with great stories. I still often work in hostels and greatly enjoy it, but I've gotten itchy feet and want to go out and see all those exciting countries, cultures and peoples for myself! First stop Colombia :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Countless travelers have recommended it to me as a wonderful way to meet open and hospitable people, see a new country from a local's perspective, and of course as a great way of "paying it forward" to other travelers seeking a warm couch and an enthusiastic tour guide+friend :)
Next time I'm back in Copenhagen I would love to host people, too, and show them my beautiful city!

Music, Movies, and Books

So many! Let's sit down and talk about it - I'm sure we have many in common ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Loads of things I've done in life that I really enjoyed - I worked at a peacock sanctuary in the Welsh mountains, got stuck in the craziest party hostel in Bratislava for six months, worked at a goat sanctuary that turned out to be a cover for drug-smuggling operations (it's a long story). Ask me!
