About Me
Hello there : - )
My Name is Ella and I'm from a small town in North East of England. I grow up in a village but I've always felt like a big fish in a small pond. I have studied law most of my life and feel like that will be my career path when I finally decided to settle down.
If I had to describe myself in three words I would choose: Courageous, Bright and Friendly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been lucky enough to experience many great things during my university experience. I've met lots of great people and tasted lots of amazing food.
Last year I spent Christmas in New York City. I've been to Cancun, Mexico during spring break. I've also been to Florida for Disneyworld of course!
However, my heart lays in Europe. I couchsurfed a few times in Poland and that was my reason for falling in love with the country. I enjoyed the cultural experience more than anything. No tourist could plan a trip like a host can. I loved seeing culture from the perspective of a local.
I suppose the main reason why I'm on couchsurf is to experience with others. I'm a real people person and love to make new friends and gain good advice from people who feel compassionate to travelling. I like exploring and going on adventures on a budget. I'm taking a break from studying atm I'm finding it very difficult to shake my student vibe!
I like to use this opportunity to make more friends and gain advice about moving to the Netherlands in 2018. I have a trip booked from the 28th December 2017 - 3rd January 2018 and at the moment have no accommodation plans. I do have tickets to an amazing NYE party in Groningen though!
Interests
I try to be creative. Mostly with paints and pencils. I'm learning to sew at the moment and always seem to get my knitting needles out during the winter months.
I love an intelligent conversation but do not watch the news.
I love good food, beer and a nice view! I love to look at old architecture and go to museums.
I love charity shopping and decorating

Music, Movies, and Books
I fell in love with techno festivals during my time in the Netherlands! I listen to lots of indie music when I'm back in England.
My favourite movies are the harry potter movie... whenever I meet a new friend the first question I ask is ... what is your favourite movie?
My most favourite book is the Great Gatsby. I love the 1920's vibe. Also, Tuesdays with Morris.
My most favourite book of all time is a book called the Buddha in the Mirror. I read it at least once a year since I came across the book ten years ago.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a student exchange in the Netherlands in 2016 and fell in love with the country completely!
The people, the food and the culture are my most beloved things about Nijmegen. I miss everything there is to miss about the Netherlands. I made fantastic friends and visited so many beautiful places. I also fell in love with Vietnamese food!
