About Me

“let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences”
- Sylvia Plath

Live: I desire to be fully mindful of life as it occurs. I desire to accept the present as it is and to curiously engage it's hidden lessons. I currently lead life as a full-time student, business owner, and avid rock climber. More specifically, I study psychology and sociology. I also own a ceramics company specializing in production design and production ceramics for local businesses. As for rock climbing, I am most experienced with sport, but also love trad. I enjoy bouldering for strength building and problem solving skills.

Information for climbers: I can lead climb, lead belay, clean, set up top rope, and manage gear (I own my own sport gear). For sport I climb at a solid 5.9 grade and project 5.10a-c. For trad, I climb a solid 5.8 grade and project on 5.9. However, I do not shy away from trying routes way above my skill level, nor do I get bored with climbing routes that are below 5.8's!

Love: I love people; Hearing their narratives, connecting over experiences, and engaging in their lives. My love for people and wholesome living influences my decision to study psychology and sociology. Love is unify, purifying, and healing - I hope to embody these aspects of life.

Say it well in good sentences: Writing is a life source for me. Books, articles, newspapers. I am cultivated through words, by words - I think because of words. My personal writing practice involves writing poetry, narrative, and short stories. People's words matter and I thrive in listening.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I traveled to Australia, the beginning of my trip was rigorously planned out and I experienced extreme unsettlement. I canceled the remainder of my plans and contacted a random host in Melbourne. From there on out I spent a month and a half couch surfing around Australia. My first host, an eighty year old dutch woman, became a deep, dear friend who impacted and developed the human I am today. It was couch surfing that taught me to let life lead me, to open my soul to the soul of the world, to immerse myself in the current of the human experience, and to listen to my intuition, heart, and desires. In many ways, the hosts, friends, and experiences I have encountered continue to teach me.

This is why I couch surf: to maintain and contribute unity in a world that currently harbors hostility through sharing living spaces, meals, and friendship with strangers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I couch surfed Australia, taught sign-language in China, and celebrated Christmas in India.

Teach, Learn, Share

I find that the most connected I feel with humans is when I am engaging in learning and growing in new experiences. One aspect of life that I am passionate about it teaching and being an avid learner. Albert Einstein once said, “I never teach my pupils. I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.”
Therefore, if you are interested in learning rock climbing, I would love to provide the gear, locate the crag, and take you to learn! I also love sharing ideas about basically every aspect of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share cleaning responsibilities and cooking during my stay. I tend to be independent with traveling and am not a demanding or needy guest. However, I am also not stingy with my time or company and would love to get to know my host- whether that's seeing the city, chatting at home, or going outdoors (hiking, climbing, etc.)

I also usually travel with my rock climbing gear and am always open to sharing a climbing experience!
