About Me

I'm a Germany based illustrator, who loves coffee and interestingly spicy food. I love travelling, have seen much of Europe but would like to go to many more places. I'm a drawing junky and will make a portrait or comic strip with anyone I meet, if they stay still long enough :) I love literature and will quote a lot of obscure Romanian books to you, if you're into that sort of weird stuff. :D
Loving all animals, but most of all cats, which me and my hubby have 2 of. Pretty much everything that's fluffy with big eyes will do.
I like going on adventures and trips to other cities and countries and exploring to the point where I end up deciding to learn the language. The big attractions are always nice to see, at the very least to say I saw them, but I'm a bigger fan of exploring tiny streets with hidden shops only locals know about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm very interested in meeting people from all over the world and getting in contact with new cultures. Coming from Romania, I can still quite often say: Oh, I've never met someone from (insert country here)!
So obviously I'm fascinated about meeting people from everywhere!
I'm a total geek about foreign languages (reason I started learning like 5 of them ) and foreign customs. If you wanna tell me about your traditions and expressions and your culture, I will listen for hours and be totally enraptured.

Interests

Art, literature, exploring, weird medical facts, metal music/ pubs/concerts (pretty much anything that has rock or metal in it :D) , psychedelic festivals and art.
I love big, big cities, but once in a while I start missing being in nature, feeling that strange freedom that comes with not stepping on concrete ( which comes with the weirdness of being slightly insectophobe).

Music, Movies, and Books

Metal/ rock music, jazz, classical....... many more genres I cannot name
Books? oh i dunno... ALL OF THEM... well, maybe not all, but I do prefer, when possible, to read the book in its original language, because I believe that no translation does it complete justice. But no, really, ALL of them. :))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked 45 km in one day through the snow, in the Romanian Carpathian mountains when I was 13. It was tiring, but most of all boring, because I didn't have my glasses yet, so all the scenery was a blur of white and black and green.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach cooking, origami, and traditional Japanese dances. Maybe some Japanese calligraphy if we have some ink and brushes at hand. Of course if you're my guest. I can tell you pretty much anything about my city from where the cheapest and most delicious food can be bought, to where the coolest museum is or cutest little reading spot on the promenade.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My traditionally Romanian cooking and my awesome stories from travels and adventures :) oh, also, the two cats living with me and hubby. they're up for grabs and petting :D

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Spain, Thailand, Turkey
