HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am not able to host. Don't take it personally.

While surfing: I want to see behind the curtain of just being a tourist and experience how people in the town I'm in really live.

While hosting:
Let's be honest: Couchsurfing is also about money. It allows you to travel for a longer time because you don't spend that much on hostels and hotels. But I also agree that it should not be used by grasping people who opened a profile only for the money-saving reason. Why am I talking about that at all? Because I also do open my house because of the reason that Switzerland is an expensive country. This is why we have lots of rich tourists. I offer my apartment to the cool travelers who would love to visit Switzerland but are not blessed with a phat banc account. Please come anyway! We need them humble ones here. While saving the costs for hotels I can show you the alternative places. And yes, Switzerland is a Disneyland, so come and get your own dose of decadent luxury lifestyle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted by lovely persons so far and support the idea of the Couchsurfing philosophy. Well-understood: I support the idea, but not the fact that in 2011 Couchsurfing transformed itself into a startup and went private, which means started to make money out of this age-old philosophy called HOSPITALITY. I am still torn between closing my profile and continuing to use the platform. We'll see. I came up with these feelings after reading this article. Have a read and make your own opinion.

Basically I can share my full attention. If you like to host but are not into the whole social interaction thing: I am also fine with that. I am good at adapting to given situations (as long as respect is involved). I can teach you how to sing without losing your breath, basic guitar chords, I can offer you pretty letters and fun times. Yeah.
