Über mich
I'm half way through studying a Bachelor of Arts in Newcastle Australia. I've loved the wide array of things I get to learn about. Sociology, Anthropology, Politics, Literature, Language, Human Geography are all things I've had the chance to study and think about in the last year or so, and I've loved having my point of views challenged and deepened along the way. I think travel is great for this!
I'm an artist and a writer, and I love reading, creating, and engaging deeply with people and ideas.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I've travelled many times before, but it's my first time going solo! I'm about to embark in a semester's exchange in Oslo, Norway, and I'm travelling Europe for a few weeks beforehand.
I'm keen to make friends where I can, and not just "see the sights" but be challenged and have share life with people in each new place I visit. I've never been interested in just being a tourist in a new place, but I want to see cities as much as possible from a local's perspective
I am clean, organised, punctual and friendly.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Music I like: Vance Joy, Passenger, Death Cab For Cutie, Twenty One Pilots, Relient K, Ed Sheeran, Blind Pilot, Bon Iver, Noah and the Whale, Boy and Bear... the list goes on
Movies: I'm fond of movies/shows that deal with writing, time travel, and the complexities of the human condition.
Books: I used to read voraciously but university has taken over my life recently. I love C. S. Lewis, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, Adrian Plass, and John Green. I just finished a semester studying American Literature, so I have a head full of postmodernism, irony and intertextuality.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Many semi-legal transportation methods come to mind: Piling helmetless onto a motorscooter as an 11 year old in India with my friend and her Dad, standing up on the highway in the back of a crowded ute in Thailand with my friends, gripping the armrest on a cramped bus in Nepal, as the driver honked the horn as the bus passed another vehicle rounding a corner on a two-land mountain road.
These and many other experiences remind of something my Dad told me when I was getting ready to travel to Nepal in 2009: You learn the most when you're outside your comfort zone.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I am learning French and Norwegian, and would love practise in any kind of language-learning.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I am known for the rationality of my advice and my ability to help people communicate.
I also paint and draw portraits (quite well), and play both guitar and piano (very poorly). I will gladly share these skills if needed. I can cook, and converse (simultaneously, if you can believe that). I can sew buttons, and I a have basic knowledge of the rules of logic, theology, and Greek and Latin root-words.
