Hi there! I'm Ella. I come from Finland but have also lived in Scotland and Belgium. I'm currently studying Psychology in Aberdeen, Scotland so that's where you'll usually find me. If I'm not there, I'll likely be either in Helsinki where I grew up or exploring somewhere new in Europe. So far I haven't travelled much outside of the continent, but I'm looking forwards to future travels.

I'm always eager to learn new things, about things and people alike. Life is a learning experience and my goal is to learn a bit of everything. This requires an active lifestyle, but I really appreciate winding down and calming the mind. It's essential and meditation is something that keeps me grounded in the midst of all the rush. A happy, healthy life's all about that balance after all. :)

Combining travelling and meeting new people is about as exciting as it can get for me! Getting to see first-hand how people live in other countries offers such a unique aspect to the whole travel experience as well. Combine that with the student-friendliness in terms of budget; what more could you ask for?

Zainteresowania

I'm interested in developing myself in creative ways. Currently especially different art forms involving movement such as dance, circus skills and yoga interest me a lot. I have danced since my childhood and along the years have tried out different styles from Finnish folk dances to burlesque and from voguing to dancehall. Currently I'm a part of the hip hop competition team at the University of Aberdeen. In circus skills I have some experience in spinning poi, hooping and fire spinning, but am still learning. I have tried aerials and acrobatics and would love to learn more, but this is currently one of my personal challenges as I tend to panic a bit as soon as my feet leave the ground. In terms of yoga: I wish I did it more but struggle in keeping up the habit. Shared yoga sessions always uplift me though, maybe we can do some together?

I'm an aspiring neuroscientist so if you want to talk about the brain, I'm all for that! I would also like to have my own therapy practice one day, perhaps involving arts and activity therapy.

I can teach some basic circus skills and dance moves. Basic juggling I am not so good at, but still practicing so am definitely keen to practice together.
