I am currently doing my MA in Berlin - it's an amazing city and I am following my dreams and hope to bring something positive to world with my studies.
I am originally from the U.S. , love to travel and have made some great and ever-lasting friends through them. I am creative - like to cook from scratch, make witchy potions like cosmetics, elixirs and creams, write, draw, do theatre, DANCE and have stimulating conversations (whatever that might mean ;-)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I was on couch surfing years ago when I lived abroad for the first time and it was the best experience I had in meeting new people in a foreign country and for traveling on a budget.
Since then I've done most of my traveling outside of using couch surfing and made some of the best friends one could ask for in (travel) life. I was able to host and travel to places through my friends.
That has changed since I've uprooted myself again and moved my life across an ocean. Now living in a foreign country again, as a budgeted student, I have the opportunity to find ways to travel again (in Europe) and meet new people here.

I also think having a local 'expert' in the area where you've never travelled before or do not know anyone is the best way to find out about a place.

I also believe in the idea of trading and shared spaces where everyone respects each other. This principle is much better to me than the idea of money. But, that is a whole other topic!

Intereses

I'm a writer and socially conscious themes are important to me. I am anti-capitalist , a feminist and tend to lend towards anarchist thinking politically - though I try not to set absolutes. I believe in respecting ourselves, each other, Mother Earth / nature, the environment and all living beings to best of my ability.
This is certainly reinforced by my travels.

Emily Dickinson, David Sadris, bell hooks, Louise Erdrich,,, lots of reading and lots of books from Wuthering Heights to Howard Zinn - The God of Small Things (A. Roy), and too many to really give you a good idea of me!

Climbed the pyramids in Teotihuacan, Mexico and discovered that even the Aztecs happened upon a city of the Gods that they did not know who built it!

I want to share my experiences and listen to others... I believe through our differences we can find commonalities and even if not, we can learn to understand and tolerate each other. I sort of align myself with eastern philosophies and the belief in Karma.
