About Me
I get told almost daily, I suffer from Peter Pan syndrome! I always seem to be surrounded by people much younger than myself, & much more often than not I just don't seem to identify/be like most others in my age group. From my perspective at least, leading a scarily mundane lifestyle - which most people would simply describe as 'settled' - just isn't part of my life picture. Ultimately, I guess I'm just a bit of a square peg!?
As a qualified Personal Trainer I maintain a healthy level of fitness. I'm vegetarian & have been my entire life, but I have no problem cooking meat for others, & apparently I'm pretty good at it too - go figure!? I'm very comfortable in the kitchen... I make a mean salad, have honed some great Italian recipes & have developed some 'quirky' somewhat alternative recipes over the years based on the 'what's left on the shelf' principal. I really enjoy seeing the surprised faces on those sceptics that try some of my weird concoctions only to find they actually really love it - despite any preconceived ideas to the contrary.
I have a great deal of experience with computers/internet, advertising, promotions, marketing, communications, events, hospitality etc & just like a classic Aries, I like to achieve my goals, so I cannot help but get my head down & push the boundaries.
I'm told I'm the Queen of being/getting/doing 'organised' which I think is just part of my nature, but I do feel very comfortable finding clarity & structure in just about anything.
Balance is key for me though & whilst I can be a serious workaholic, I DO like to have a laugh!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am travelling around South America for the next eighteen months. Much of my trip is volunteering through Workaway.com. I would like to meet as many local people as possible in order to get a good feel for the place I am in, its culture, environment, history, & people; as well as having the opportunity to meet other travellers. Also, I am on a strict budget in order to lengthen my stay as much as possible so couchsurfing is a great alternative to expensive hotels or Workaway placements.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have an eclectic taste in music & like just about everything except some country & jazz. Probably my favourite music to listen to is Nirvana, Kasabian, Sticky Fingers, Skrillex, Metallica, & Bob Marley.
I love movies!!! ALL movies so it is hard to pick just a few favouritesbut my Top 5 are: Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Pulp Fiction, Zombieland, & Faster Pussycat Kill, Kill.
I like all kinds of books but prefer to read autobiographies & biographies. However some of my favourites are: To Kill A Mockingbird, Nikola Tesla, & Johnathon Livingston Seagull, The Velveteen Rabbit & Silence Of The Lambs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have climbed an erupting volcano. Mount Bromo is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia, at 2,329 metres (7,641 ft) The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god.
Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a plain called the "Sea of Sand" which is a protected nature reserve since 1919. I trekked for four days to the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there I walked to the volcano base & up to the edge of the crater to view the lava flow along the opposite side.
