About Me

CURRENT MISSION

EXPLORE

ABOUT ME

I'm an American student from Southern California but currently living in Rome for 4 months in order to learn Italian among the people of Italy, to embrace the city's history/culture, and to experience life outside of my Californian bubble.

I love a good adventure and a good laugh. I love talking to people and hearing their stories (but, I am also probably the worst person at remember historical dates and significant events. ...sadly, I probably wouldn't be the strongest teammate for your trivia/fun-facts game night. I try my best to be graceful but you'll probably see me trip over my own shoe every once in a while. But, such is life :)

PHILOSOPHY

Michael J. Fox says it best: "If you get caught up in [thinking about] the worst case scenario and it doesn't happen, then you've wasted your time. If you get caught up in the worst case scenario and it does happen, you've lived it twice." so enjoy life, appreciate the little things, and always look at the bigger picture! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently studying abroad in Rome. During the weekends and the longer breaks from school, I would LOVE to travel throughout Europe.

For me, there's nothing more exciting than going to a new place, seeing the sites, meeting the locals, and tasting the traditional/local cuisine (Yum! Did I mention that I love to cook? And that I'm a self-proclaimed, amateur "foodie"?)

And, hopefully, when I return to the US...I'll be able to do some CS hosting of my own! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just started couch-surfing a few months ago and I love it! There's no better way to meet the locals and explore a city. Hopefully, when I get back to the States, I'll be able to do some hosting as well! :)

Gotta "pay it forward!"

Interests

- Cooking, baking, and experimenting with recipes
- Art: drawing, painting, etc.
- Crafts: sewing, knitting, etc. (I've been told I have an old soul trapped in a 21-year-old body, haha)
- Being outdoors, visiting new places, getting lost, learning new things, talking to people and hearing their stories!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a little bit of everything! It's too difficult to choose one movie, one book, or one artist...but if I had to name a few of my top choices:

Movies:
Batman Begins, Bridget Jones' Diary, Up, Ratatouille, Inception, Memento, Atonement, Despicable Me, ...(the list goes on and on!)

Music:
James Morrison, Beatles, Beach Boys, ...(this list goes on and on as well!)

Books:
The Great Gatsby, Crime and Punishment, My Father's Dragon, Harry Potter,...(this list goes on and on too! all though, it probably isn't as long as my list of favorite movies.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Passing through the Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Vatican, the Tiber River (and sometimes even the Spanish Steps!) on a weekly basis is probably one of the most spectacular experiences I have ever had so far. - I'm loving my time in Rome!!

Actually, the Colosseum is pretty awe-inspiring as well.
-- Here's a fun fact: Did you know that the Colosseum was built in only 5 YEARS? (I love little yet incredibly amazing facts like these!)
