About Me

When I'm not working, I'm messing around with illustration and printmaking. ENFP fits me pretty well. I love exploring new cities, and most recently traveled to Berlin. I also love looking at urbex photos. I had a brief street art phase that sadly has passed. I have a lil 35mm Holga film camera I bring with me whenever I travel.

My core value is "soft is strong" - I care about staying vulnerable even when that seems like a stupid thing to do. I like when humans are...human! I love the authentic people who do whatever they're passionate about, even if nobody gets their particular interest. People who embrace the weird! Unless your weird is *too* weird. What else...I'm definitely more of a night owl than a morning person. Not a big drinker, but I do like to experience night events - the last one I really enjoyed was a huge gay roller-rink and karaoke bar in Denver.

Bring me to your friend's home gallery show or a night art market!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet new people and get to experience new cities through the people who live in them. Discover more of the PNW. Would also like to connect with other Queer folk and/or makers (y'all are my favorite) and get to know your local Queer art scene.

Music, Movies, and Books

Shows and Movies: Babylon Berlin, Sense8 (I got to meet some of the crew at Vancouver Pride!!), Ha Buah, Peaky Blinders, Pretty in Pink (sentimentally, since John Hughes is from Chicago). Documentaries about how the crazy ways people earn a living and fall into their futures.

Also, any movie that is just terrible in execution. Prime examples include: Dirty Dancing in Havana and Marigold. The ones that make you ask, "How did they get funding? Who was their audience supposed to be?"

Nick Offerman is a god.

Music: Anderson Paak, ShowYouSuck, SZA (x 10), St. Vincent, King Princess, Calvin Harris, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros (pre-Jade exit), Matt and Kim, Paramore, Res, Sufjan Stevens.

Books: Show Your Work (+ anything by Austin Kleon), A Love Made Out of Nothing, Prep, A Clockwork Orange.

Podcasts: MFM. Also want to start listening to How Did This Get Made?, but haven't found the time yet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - Korean basics.

Learn - Bout yo city.

Share - The experience of braided homebaked bread, fresh out of the oven.
