I'm originally from South London but I've been living in Fukaura, Aomori since August 2014, teaching English to JHS kids. I will be hosting until the end of July 2016, because I am moving back to the UK in August! *sob*
I can host up until then, but please be aware my schedule might be a little hectic during my final weeks in Aomori and my apartment definitely won't look as cool as it does now when I have to get rid of all my stuff...

It's really easy to make me laugh, so if you have an incredible sense of humour and you make me cry it's definitely a good thing. I'm just as happy staying at home and curling up on my sofa to watch films as I am going out to a bar with friends and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to show people what it's like in the depths of the Northern Japanese countryside - there is a lot of beauty over here! Sometimes I need the city though, and couchsurfing seems like a fun way to explore and meet new people.
みんなに北日本の田舎を見せたいです！こちで美しい自然が多いですが、たまに大きな都市に行きたいんです。Couchsurfingは楽しい着想だと思っていた！

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked along the Great Wall of China, which was probably the most surreal, challenging and breath-taking (in both senses!) thing I've done.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live an hour's drive from UNESCO World Heritage site Shirakami-sanchi, which is an amazing hiking spot. The mountain is quite challenging and takes about 7-8 hours to climb altogether (or less if you're one of those crazy people who enjoys running up and down it) but it's well worth it. There is also Anmon Falls, as well as Lake Juniko and Nihon Canyon if you fancy doing something a little less exhausting but equally beautiful. Fukaura also has a good selection of onsens, including Furofushi which looks out onto the sea and is stunning at sunset. There are also a couple of places to eat near my home, and a bit more selection in the main part of Fukaura 30 mins south. I live 5 minutes from Senjojiki, which is my favourite place in Fukaura for climbing on the rocky water's edge and watching the sunset. I can take you to any of these places, or if you prefer to go alone that's okay!
