About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Watch, share and learn!

ABOUT ME

Love the life you live, live the life you love!!! :D

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness comes from within and from the process of creation we bring to the world. Whether is for ourselves or for the world itself. I live my live being happy, and I achieve that goal whenever some one that crosses my path in their Diversity, their Dignity, teaches me something and I truly learn the lesson: " ... make of the world your paths!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell friends about couchsurfing and i help people to connect via couchsurinfg, whether they are searching a couch, company or just some advices about a place. I also hosted people when i had a home!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosted and i have also hosted people in Lisboa. I love to show and talk about the city i grew up and i love. Right now i am travelling with my girlfriend Camila and therefore we are not hosting presently.

Interests

I am into volunteer work as a way to change the world starting in us, our community and then the rest. I love to give training courses and coordinate groups, discover new people, different cultures and realities. Read and watch movies/documentaries as much as i can and practice sports, specially Korfball, and of course be with friends. I also love to travel and explore, therefore i become a tour leader, first in Lisbon, now in the world so i can share and show it as i see and love it :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a lot of movies, from the eldest to the newest ones. I could stay here telling names, but I can't say one that gets away from the others cause they all touched and showed me different and new feelings, and that is what I search in a movie, some smile, some movement, some scene where the actor or actress or even the producer can really make grow in you any kind of feeling. I can appoint some series though: Californication, Weeds, Battlestar Galactica (the new series), Diaries of a Call Girl, Heroes, Rome, West Wing, and so many more.
My favorite music is: "Walk on", by U2, it's the best music in the world, this is the only thing I can choose for sure as best in anything, and I enjoy a lot of different music's like classical, jazz, rock and alternative/indie music, so on. I can leave here some bands, singers and composers I like: Sigur Ros, LCD SoundSytem, Rolling Stones, Queen, Beatles, António Variações, U2, Guns n' Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, David Bowie, Nick Cave (with or without the Bad Seeds), Garbage, Belle and Sebastien, The National, Cat Power, Radiohead, Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Nico, Wilco, Interpol, Bob Dylan, Arcade Fire, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Bloc Party, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker, Oasis, Death Cab for Cutie, Pink Floyd, Ornatos Violeta, The Shins, The New Pornographers, Blur, The Kinks, Leonard Cohen, Rachmaninov, and the list goes on and on ...
About books is the same as in the films but I specially enjoy the way a writer can tell a story or describe the scenarios, if you take for example Eça de Queirós or even José Saramago (both Portuguese), or Bernard Cornwell ("The War Lord Chronicles", trilogy), among others, you'll see that by the way they describe the things happening and the scenarios you can give a lot of work to your imagination. I also like to read about real based stories and scientific books, like Juan Chang "Wild geese" about the two last century's life on China. Lately I have been reading more about social development and ideas about society management, like: "1984" (George Wells), and: "The Brave New World" (Aldous Huxley).
You can also read very god books about travels and it's conclusions and comparisons to your world like Gonçalo Cadilhe does in his books, I personally recommend: "Planifério Pessoal", or even your travel diaries from other travels :P There is Alberto Moravia, Pasolini, Lawrence of Arabia, and many others writing about the feeling and sense of entires cultures, not only passing by people, but people whiling to learn and understand what is ahed of them.
I also like poetry my latest book is from Eduardo Chilida a Spanish poet, painter and designer, I haven't read yet the book but I'm looking forward to do it. I strongly advise to read Fernando Pessoa ("Mensagem", heterónimos ...), Mário Cesariny, Bocage, John Whitman, and much more ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I thing that my lifetime is the real amazing thing as everybody should thing about his/her life time, once we have the chance to make something real and useful for us and the others, make the difference ;) to help achieve this I co-founded a youth association: www.gastagus.org, i've travelled aroun the world, i host people, i worked in different jobs all over and i am me :D

Teach, Learn, Share

We should be one with our diversity and not one in our equality! We are all storytellers, being the travellers the ones with more responsibility because they see the world as it is: diversity! So we should and have to assume the responsibility of sharing this world as he is and learn to be one with him through comprehension, cooperation and communication to achieve a better state of things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have travelled quite a while and got to know many interesting people and their stories, i can share this stories. I can also talk about what motivates me and go for hours listening and sharing about world story. I love to eat and cook and so i can teach portuguese dishes nham nham I am also into photography and activism so we can chat about all this and much more :-)
