About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Last time I used couchsurfing was in 2013 when I travelled around Asia with my sister Isy. We had a couple of lovely experiences with very friendly and welcoming hosts! I've recently returned from a trip to SE Asia and India with my partner Ben and friends and we are now settling back in Bristol. We were very lucky to see some beautiful places on the other side of the world, but this year we've decided to cut down on flights and see more of the UK, and find some beautiful places a bit closer to home!
ABOUT ME
I am 32 and Ben is 34. I studied in Brighton and left Brighton in 2010, moved to Bristol where I have been working with children and families (in education and social care) for the past 9 years with bits of travel here and there! Ben also works with young people but on the side does music production.
PHILOSOPHY
Be open-minded to other cultures and appreciate differences around the world. Try new things. Don't judge unless someone is a real moron. Look after animals; they ruled this earth before we came along. Compassion all the way! It's nice to be nice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I am eventually settled somewhere I would be happy to have people stay with me. Currently I am looking for opportunities to stay with people whilst I travel, it's always useful to meet people who know a place and can give recommendations and suggestions, and it's just generally good to meet new people. I love cooking and am always happy to contribute etc
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a great experience in India with a lovely guy in Chennai, we stayed up all night chatting on the roof and he gave me a free haircut!
Interests
I love cooking, experimenting with cooking, red wine, travel, reading, writing, electronic music, live music, hearing other languages, animals (I have a soft spot for cats), friends, family, meeting new, nice, interesting people. I've gotten into yoga in the past year or two and trying to get into a daily practise

Music, Movies, and Books
Amelie, American beauty, Eagle vs Shark, Muriel's wedding, death becomes her, Drop dead Fred, Home Alone, crap kids' films.
All sorts! Electronic, folk, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, i love an eclectic mixture. Love many books; 100 years of Solitude, the Kite Runner, A thousand splendid suns, Wuthering heights to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Camping at the top of Kheer Ganga in North India, one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen. Also i'm not much of a natural hiker so it was even more special.
We're very lucky to have travelled around Europe, India, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia over the past 12 years.
Teach, Learn, Share
Would like to work more with young people around the world, my specialist area is safeguarding and this is important all over the world wherever there are children or vulnerable communities. I would love to learn another language as fluently as possible (french) and learn more about what's going on around the world. I love doing yoga with people. Ben makes electronic music and his last album was based on samples he found when travelling around India.
What I Can Share with Hosts
COOKING and a nice bottle of wine :), hopefully share travel stories, new music, good book recommendations etc
