About Me
Hi there!
There is this one quote I love. Do what you love for living and you won't work a single day. That's what I do: I am realizing my passions! I am an event manager, traveler, author, student, teacher, lector, writer, photographer, kids entertainer, and so many more! Can't decide and never will - what for? Life's too short to take just one path of the road! :D
Thus I'm quite busy. Mostly I'm come home late and leave early. Unfortunately that means I have less time for hosting. But send me a request and we will see! But first things first: don't be mad if I have to work and can't share time with you. Couch itself has probably more time than me 🙈
This is no dating platform and since I am in a relationship, I am not interested in flirting or even more. Thanks for understanding. 😉 And yes, I am mostly traveling without my partner.
Try live plastic-free (or at least as close as I come)*. I would appreciate if you try the same while staying at my place, but of course you don't have to.
*(which means I buy as less plastic as possible, but of course I use things out of plastic I already have but replace them bit by bit).
Also, I love tea - so if you want to get me a gift, than I prefer tea from your home country! 😏
Oh, I am kind of vegan. Which means, I don't eat meat, dairy products (except some times cheesecake. I love cheesecake!), eggs and so on. But I do eat fish (I am addicted to sushi!). Besides, I do have a food allergy so I would probably not eat with you. But feel free to eat and cook whatever you want! I don't judge - hope you as well!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To crash one's couch is a thing everyone should try! Or sleep on the floor. Or in a tent in the garden. Or in the car next to a cemetery.
And yes, last one also happend because of Couchsurfing. Was totally scary. Okay, almost happened. You wanna hear the whole story? Ask me! :D
Interests
I'm a fan of Frida Kahlo's art and the story behind the drawings and of Frida herself . Also, I'm interested in the story of Anne Frank and once I helped managing an exhibition about her. In general I like to talk about independent and strong women.
Love books, love movies, love photography (especially of people), love good coffee, love dancing, love movement, love traveling, love exploring, love trying, love overcoming fears - Just love life! Not always, but most of the time :D
I care about environment. As written I try to reduce plastic but also prefer second hand and DIY over buying new stuff. Since I live on my own I started to create and grow my own things (furniture, food, a.s.o). Would love if you can teach me some handcrafts!
Music, Movies, and Books
I always have a book in my pocket. Prefering realistic novels and I am totally interested in true stories. One of my absolute favorite authors is Alina Bronsky (she's german/russian). But also Stephen King, Haruki Murakami, Jack Ketchum and Bill Bryson.
Have a thing for the 90s and early 00s! Movies, music, clothing, vibes - love it all!
Oh - and I love to dance (since the age of 12 I dance regularly in sport courses. Mostly Zumba and Modern Dance)! Dance with me and you will be my hero!
My all-time-fav' song is "Walking on sunshine" 🌞 - mostly I listening to rock music but I also love beats and oldies.
I watch a lot of series and movies. I am not into one genre, watch every single one! And every monday is cinema monday with my flatmate (we both study something with media, so we have a strong movie-connection).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Try to do at least one amazing thing from my Bucket list every year!
🌋 2015 - Spontaneously, I packed my stuff and explored a foreign overseas country (Indonesia) for one month with a stranger, who is now one of my best friends.
💇♀️ 2016 - Donated 30 cm length of my hair for a wig for a child with cancer.
🚐 still 2016 - Roadtrip trough East Australia and New Zealand
🐘 2017 - Africa Safari Trip! Slept in a tent right next to elephants under thousands of stars
🗽Still 2017 - first travels by my own trough Malaysia, Singapore and New York City
🎄 2018/2019 - untraditional Christmas in Tahiti with one of my besties and cheesy NYE in NYC
🌎 2019 - spontaneously quit the job I love so much to travel the world! (but just for 3 months)
Teach, Learn, Share
Have you ever heard of Austrian's culture? Do you know grumpy cat? Trust me, this correlation is quite fun! Love telling you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Always having a lot of fun in my backbag and sarcasm is my middle name. Sometimes I am a good company, I guess.
And we can do a photo shooting. I am not a professional but I love taking pics. You can see some of them online on Instagram (brader.statt.gucci) or in my album right here on CS (travelin')!
And I bake. Unfortunately I can't cook (like for real. I can't do it - I even burn water). But I bake acceptable vegan banana muffins! Check it out. 😉
