ABOUT ME

I love to try and experience new things and have been dreaming of travel since i was a little girl! Accents intrigue me and the culture and way of life that is different to my own is fascinating.
Up for trying just about anything new

PHILOSOPHY

I have lived my life dreaming about the places in the world that I can see, my life now is at the beginning of my new exciting journey of seeing the world through having surfers come into my home & share their lives or through me surfing on my first major overseas trip to Europe with my sister in 2014.
Have you read the life stages thoery of Erik Erikson?
I refuse to get to what he describes as the final stage, at the end of your life and there are two roads that people take, the first is one in which the person is bitter and filled with regret and the ones that are at complete peace with their lives looking back because there are no major regrets or issues not dealt with.
I want to successfully cruise through that final age stage & look back & see that I stopped dreaming and started seeing & experiencing life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to welcome new friends into my home, it is small and modest but cosy and in a great area for public transport, the train station is 10 minutes down the road and the train is a 50 minute ride into Brisbane City. My son is willing to give up his bedroom for a few days to our guests, it is a small single room sleeps 3, 1 double bed, 1 single
I work full time and therefore would be more suited to more independent travelers, on my days off work, if you wanted I would love to show you around to some special places.
I also live less than 5 minutes walking distance from Nerima Japanese Gardens and a free entry animal zoo.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few times and loved meeting travelers and adored my experiences surfing through EU, I will never get over the effort that strangers are willing to make for you! Please note that if you send me a couch request I will decline if you do not show that you have read my profile to see what distance I am from Brisbane City - I've had a few ppl cancel last minute citing this as the reason

In 2011 I went to Fiji on a missions trip, we stayed in a very poor village with the locals and this has opened my eyes to myself in that I was much happier there than I was at home that was filled with belongings but stress. Knowing the true way of life for the Fiji people and forming amazing relationships with them is why I am here. Staying in a hotel, closed away from people is not my idea of getting to know a country,what better way than to be hosted by someone that has intimate knowledge of the place that they live in.
You will hardly ever find me saying no to a new adventure, I find life thrilling by taking on new experiences.

Movies, books, BBQ's, good food, good friends, the beach, the beach,the beach!I have 2 cats that I adore so if you are allergic I won't suit you,unfortunately they do lay all over the furniture.

Books... I love Jodi Picoult & Jeffrey Archer ... The Notebook is my all time fav movie, followed so closely by The Vow. Alternately I like boy movies too, the Rocky Series, Fight Club, Shawshank Redemption.
