My husband and I live in the redwoods east 5 miles from McKinleyvillel, California. He is a retired school bus driver. I am retired from teaching for Veterans Upward Bound at Humboldt State University. (The program lost it's federal funding otherwise I would still be teaching there! ) My husband & I like to travel in the states in our little 20 ' Roadtrek camper van. I like to also go abroad with a travel friend. 2017 I hope to go to Europe again---Croatia, Italy, Germany and Holland perhaps!
I am not really a couch surfer---just went on the site out of curiosity. ...I may try it next year and may try hosting if it works with our schedule.
I love the area we live---ocean, mountains & redwoods and enjoy showing my favorite spots to others. I love to hike and kayak.

Just curious! Not sure I'll even take advantage of it. ...But looks interesting and should be a fun and different way to meet people!

Interests

I have 2 hard shell kayaks---our area has great lagoons to go out on. When I travel I love to take kayak tours when available.
Hiking here in the redwoods always amazes people....even when you live here. I love to take little hikes when in other areas.
I love to work in the garden--flowers, veggies, lemon, apple and a plum tree in our yard.

Whatever I'm reading or listening to at the moment--love almost all music except for hard rock.

I am a math teacher/tutor. If math is difficult for you, you're more normal than I am! Math has so many building blocks. When a person isn't clear on all of them it can be frustrating---I like to help figure out any difficulties a person is having. Too often people struggle with math and then think they are stupid---no, you just need a little insight and help! I love to make math fun and interesting.
