About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Striving to step out of my comfort zone and enjoy life!
ABOUT ME
Down-to-earth, relatively quiet, tentative around new people and potential friends. On the other hand, once you get to know me, I can jump to the other extreme: excitable and willing to talk for hours on end.
I try to derive my happiness from the little things in life, and I love to try new things! And if you get me started about ethical thought experiments...you may as well get settled in for the long haul. Even though I'm studying biology (pre-medical student), I'm fascinated by many of the liberal arts, especially ethics!
I really like hearing people's stories, and comparing differences in culture!
PHILOSOPHY
In general, I try to follow the idea of 'Live and let live'. To each their own--I stand for the freedom of each person, as long as their freedom does not infringe on that of others.
Personally, I try to keep in mind that: This too shall pass--never give up in your heart of hearts.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I'm studying abroad, so I can't host yet. But I've been going to meetups, and I've been lucky enough to have a great first experience as a surfer!

Pretty new, had a good first experience surfing in Strasbourg :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a weird aversion to movies, but I love eclectic, sad music that evokes more through words than through melody, my taste ranges from Kansas to Green Day to Jay Chou to Edith Piaf.
I lose myself in books, though. Give me a good pseudo-historical fantasy novel and...well. Come back in a few months? The Game of Thrones series haunts me still.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I visited Hallstatt, Austria--the sight of the mountains towering over the lake was heart stoppingly beautiful. It stuns me to imagine that these were only the little Alps--I can't imagine how awe-striking the greater Alps must be.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm looking to improve my spoken French and maybe pick up some French cooking skills! If someone can teach me how to flip a crêpe, I'll be eternally grateful :D
(I've also secretly wanted to learn dancing--any kind of ballroom style dance--but I'm afraid I'm not coordinated enough!)
On an academic level, I can teach:
-Spoken Mandarin
-Basic French
-Biology up to the level of university-standard Human Physiology
-Intro level sciences/maths (of the university level).
For other random things:
-Knitting
-Crochet
-Piano (intermediate)
-Trombone (intermediate)
-Drawing manga (basic)
-Basic cooking
