About Me
Having grown up in the English countryside and having a park ranger as a Father I am passionate about the environment and the natural world. I have always known that I wanted to travel and now that I have graduated I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to do so!
I started my travels in India in January 2015. An incredible country with incredible people. Since then I have traveled in Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and most recently have been on a year working visa in Australia where I worked picking blueberries for 3 months near Cairns and also lived in Melbourne for 5 months. I am now gradually working my way up the east coast before I head back to the UK for a few months.
Over the last 18 months I have used sites like workaway, gumtree, and WWOOFing to work for food and accommodation in different places which have truly been some of the best experiences that I have had!
I love being around people and making new friends and learning about other customs and cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After travelling around India and SE Asia I have been overwhelmed by peoples hospitality, people letting us stay in their homes and showing us their city like we would never have known it otherwise. Whilst in India I also did a fair amount of WWOOFing which was amazing as really got to know the locals and their way of life - who were also so kind to us. I am on couchsurfing to learn more about other cultures and make new friends whilst travelling and staying with a host. It is such an amazing idea and concept!
At the moment I am not able to host as I don't have my own house/flat but when I have finished travelling I would like to return the favour and welcome anyone to where I may be!
I have recently done my STCW 95 qualification and ENG1 as I am really interested in working on yachts as a stewardess as seems like and interesting way of travelling and there seems to be a lot of people doing that kind of thing on here.
The best times that I have had when being abroad are when you have some inside knowledge from locals or those kind enough to show you around and I think this is really important. I also believe that your time away can also be measured by who you meet.
Interests
For me it is really important to be by the sea - I love swimming in the sea and coastal walks with great views, I have been lucky enough to be a beach warden in Devon and been able to enjoy the beautiful beaches here. I love taking friends down to some of my favourite beaches with bbq's and fresh mackerel. I love a good walk, in countryside too!
I enjoy painting, sketching and hope to have time to do some while I am travelling.
My favourite form of exercise is probably cycling, it makes me so happy! At some point would love to do an actual cycling holiday. Once I get into a routine I also really do love exercise and pushing myself but I am an all or nothing kind of person and at the moment it is the latter! haha!
I am really interested in Microbiology and infectious disease from my biology degree, and always keen to learn more on this vast subject.
I love going to live music events, be that festivals or gigs. And hope to find some different music festivals abroad and see how they are done.

Music, Movies, and Books
Folk, funk, reggae, dance, house (thanks Exeter). All music really anything that gets me dancing/singing/feeling happy! I love going to music festivals with my friends and being surrounded by a large group of people and experiencing it all together.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
T R A V E L
Teach, Learn, Share
There is so much that I would love to learn, more cooking skills, learning different languages, more about music, traditions, history and culture. I am open to all new things!
I have learnt so much being away both practical things ( like learning how to ride a semi automatic scooter, teaching children english) and views on different cultures and ways of life that I will keep with me forever!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope that I can share my enthusiasm with others with my happy and friendly personality. I have been travelling for 18 months now so have lots of stories and experiences I can share with people.
I enjoy helping out a bit at a host's home be that some washing, cooking or tidying in return for your kind hospitality!
I also have an array of terrible puns that I will inevitably share with/without your consent!
