ABOUT ME

I am a travelling soul, history & literature lover, idealist and an open minded and enthusiastic girl.

I love life and everything it has to offer and I believe you'll always meet a person for a reason. It interests me to find out what bonds people and how other people see life.

I worked as a primary school teacher for a year now, I had fun and learned a lot, but I'm not sure if this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I'm thinking of starting a new study in september 2013: English language, theatre-, movie- and literary theory. Eventually I dream of becoming a writer and see my books published.

This summer I'm starting the journey of a lifetime through the beautiful nature of New-Zealand and Australia. It will be my first time backpacking and travelling alone; I'm really excited. I will 'only' go for four months this time, I think ;)

PHILOSOPHY

To me, life is about meeting and connecting with people, trying things you haven't done before, taking risks, inspire people, love what you do, learn from mistakes, laugh until tears roll down your cheeks, discover what the world has to offer and enjoy every single minute of it.

Oh, and don't take yourself too seriously!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to meet interesting people who can make my journey through New-Zealand and Australia an amazing experience by surfing their couch.
After I'm back home and live on my own I would like to host couchsurfers too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience at all! But I've heard great stories and hope to be an experienced couch surfer once I'm back from my trip to New-Zealand and Australia.

Interesses

Reading, writing, dancing, nature, singing (even though your ears will hurt if you'd hear me), surfing, music, ballet, hiking, photography, hanging out with fun people, philosophy.

I love having intriguing conversations with people about life, love, what they are passionate about and what they believe in.

Visit the amazing ruines of Petra, the city totally build in the mountains and caves in Jordan.

Walk the 'Nijmeegse Vierdaagse'. For 4 days, I walked 40 kilometres a day. It's an annual walking event in The Netherlands. The feeling when I crossed the finishline on the fourth day is indescribable.

I would like to share love for music, opinions and ideas with other people.

I can teach children anything, since I am a teacher ;) I can also teach a bit of Dutch.

I would like to learn the language, culture and history of the country I'm visiting. My bucketlist also includes learning to surf and play piano ;)
