About Me

Hi, Im Elle, im 27 years of age and I'm currently living back in Australia, saving for my next big trip which will be Hawaii, Mexico and then onto Central America! I began travelling since the ripe age of 23 (after I finished my degree and worked my butt off for almost 9 months to save) and since haven't been able to stop! So far I have been to 29 countries, 5 continents and lived and worked in many different cities around the world, my favourite being Croatia, as a tour guide.

When I travel I like to do it alone or with friends, I am not fussed as long as I am exploring each day, soaking up as much sun as possible, meeting lots of new people and sharing stories, reading and relaxing at times and going out to enjoy a few beers, wines or just anything alcoholic. I also love food, I spend a lot of time and money sourcing the best things to try from each place I go, I just think it's the best way to see a new place and experience it's culture! I do go out when the opportunity arises, often when you meet a group of great like minded travellers, I just don't like spending every day hung over.

I am a very easy going girl with an optimistic outlook on life who is always up to do something fun. I hold no expectations for my host and what we do, it would just be great to stay with a local, make a new friend and share some awesome new experiences and memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have stayed in countless hotels, hostels, air bib's but only very few times have I stayed with a resident or local to a particular city/country.
I would love nothing more than to come and stay with someone from the destination I am travelling to in order to get the best out of the place from a local perspective. The best hikes and outdoor activities, the yummiest places to eat, the funnest/coolest local watering holes (places to drink) the best beaches to lie and relax, the best beaches to learn to surf and lastly but most important of all, a new friend to do all of this with!

Once I return home to Australia, I intend to move closer to the beach along the East Coast and will be accepting guests to host and show around.

Interests

My main interest and most talked about topic in my life would have to be travel, I just can't seem to cure the bug (and don't intend to)! Another interest would have to be food, I love to try new things and am constantly thinking about the next thing I'm going to consume. I have been to a lot of music festivals around the world including Ultra in Croatia and Coachella in California, I would also like to do a lot more in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie Music mainly but do enjoy listening to whatever is playing on the mainstream radio channels i.e. dance, edm....who doesnt!

Movies - Just nothing scary. All time favourites are Anchorman, Titanic (although I sometimes stop just before they hit the iceberg so I can imagine Jack and Rose both live) and Hook.

Anything adventurous suits me in the book department!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In India I hiked up a mountain completely unprepared with a local guide and a handful of people and donkeys. It was over 5000 metres and took two days just to get up. Once we were there we camped just under Virgin Peak and the sights were out of this world, the glaciers had melted into a freezing fresh water river on top of the mountain to one side and on the other you had these incredible views of the baby himalayas and beyond. I was very sick from the altitude and food by this stage but it was a highlight of my trip and something I'll never forget.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Countless stories of travels and a set of ears to hear your own, beers, food (I love to cook!) and general all round good smiley times.
