About Me

Hello!! I am an adventurous 25 year old Australian hopping around the world. I've just spent 6 months travelling through Africa, India, Nepal and am now going to (try and) settle in Canada. I am easy-going, friendly and love meeting new people. Music, art and fashion are some of my interests - I am a DJ, I make music, sing, draw, paint, design jewellery, make clothes... I speak Japanese (lived in Tokyo in 2016) and would love to learn more languages. In August I completed my yoga teacher training in Rishikesh so would love some practice teaching yoga. Skiing, hiking, and jogging keep me fit. I'm vegetarian bordering-on-Vegan and love cooking healthy meals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is the perfect way to share stories and make friends whilst keeping accomodation costs down. I am tidy, responsible and fiercely independent so you don't need to worry about babysitting me.

Music, Movies, and Books

When I DJ its mostly techno, house, electro or ambient music but I listen to all sorts - hip hop, funk, soul, electronica, experimental, abstract, idm... I'm interested in traditional music from several cultures. Any films by Tarantino, Almodovar, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson.... I love American literature from the 50s / 60s - Catcher in the Rye, Catch 22, Lolita, Breakfast at Tiffanys to name a few :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently had the most incredible experience trekking in Annapurna, Nepal. I went without a guide and managed to avoid the crowds, met a 71-year old Japanese man who had climbed 12 of the world's 14 peaks over 8000m... So I spent 2 days at 4200m on Mardi Himal speaking Japanese - who would have thunk it! Then climbed up to Khopra and found an isolated lake at 4800m. Mother Nature at her finest, it was just breathtaking and I was proud to have done it by myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach many skills - DJing, yoga, illustration, Photoshop, and basically anything textile-related from sewing, weaving, embroidery, dying, and screen-printing.

I would love to learn more languages. I am currently tackling Ableton (a music production software) but progress is very slow... Silverwork, carpentry, joinery all interest me. Things that I don't naturally gravitate towards but NEED TO LEARN: cars/how to maintain or fix them (I'd like to buy a van), and any small business/entrepreneurial strategies. Learning is a constant process and always excites me.
