ABOUT ME
Hey, I am Ellie, I look forward to meeting you!
Last year I was teaching economics at an amazing international school in the west Norwegian fjordlands. Now for something completely different - I am off to Beijing. I have spent most of my life moving around and am always keen to meet new people.

PHILOSOPHY
Energy, joy, and adventure.
Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it, I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others, I am going to benefit others as much as I can.
(Heard this quote before?)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I have just hosted people, never actually surfed any couches myself. I hope this will change soon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted various people in Edinburgh and Norway. First time ever was a Mormon girl from Utah, next two Israeli animal rights activists. Etc. Fascinating that this little website connected us!
Interests
Pretty much everything. Certainly not limited to swimming outside, reading books about adventures while lying in the park, learning little-spoken languages, travelling up mountains, political activism, people-watching in cafes, kayaking in rivers, cooking "chinese" food, going to the pub, sleeping outside, and talking talking talking.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots and lots and lots!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Voted in national elections.
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach languages, economics, unicycling, tin whistle. Share passion for politics and world affairs, hiking and camping out, singing, playing board games. Good music!
Want to learn languages and musical instruments of any sort, as well as new ideas for cooking! Everything really!
