About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Fighting fires and picking up rocks to find cool bugs.
ABOUT ME
Hello world! My name is Ellie and I love to travel and eat. Preferably at the same time. I'm currently working around the Southwest USA in a program called Americorps NCCC. I'm a wildland firefighter and outdoor educator and all sorts of other things. I love to hike, bake, and play soccer. I love funny people and dogs. Throw on some Otis Redding, make me a good sandwich, and I'm yours.
PHILOSOPHY
"A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." -Roald Dahl

Favorite Books: Poisonwood Bible, High Fidelity, Mountains Beyond Mountains, Snow Falling on Cedars, Franny and Zooey, and so much more.
Favorite Movies: Stand By Me, In Bruges, Clifford, My Cousin Vinny, Stranger Than Fiction, Philadelphia Story (and anything else with Cary Grant).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At age 15 I got to play my trumpet on top of the Great Wall of China as a part of my high school marching band. That was a hard one to top, but I'm doing my best every day to get that feeling again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a whiz in the kitchen, if I may say so myself. I also love to camp and have a pretty solid background in backcountry skills and wildland fire safety.
