Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because my house is being sold out from under me, and it's time for an adventure! I want to connect and learn from new people in new places, and I've never been up the west coast.

Interests

I've been playing music since I was a kid. Piano, guitar, lately drumset, and I've been producing music under the name Many Voices. I play all the time. At work, at home, when I'm out. Music is most of what I do.

I like metal and string bands. I like mellow electronica and rattlin' folk music. I love rock and roll. I studied jazz at university. I have a lot of complicated baggage from that experience. I like to sing about love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitched a ride with a French police car.

They took us to the nearest tollbooth going our way, so we could keep hitchhiking. Definitely the crowning achievement of my limited emergency-french.

I led songs for a group of 300 kids all summer.
I wrote and produced two albums (third EP coming soon) with limited financial and technical resources.

I learned to love myself. Whoa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I do what I can for people. I'm a much happier person when I'm serving others. That said, I've often been the one in need, as is bound to be the case on this trip. I give what I can. Sometimes all I can do is listen. Sometimes people really need that. I love to cook, especially if you have a clean kitchen. Mmmm.
