ABOUT ME

We started a new adventure and bought our own campervan to travel around Europe for a few months. Normally we don't need a host since we can sleep in our van but we'd love to meet couchsurfers, hang out for a night and grab a beer together for example :-)

~~As Surfers~~
We are very open and easy people who like to make friends along the way. We will be very polite, respectful and thankful. We'll do our best to keep your place clean. Motivated, experienced and enthusiastic about Couchsurfing, we can't wait to meet you :-)
We don't need much comfort, a piece of garden to pitch our tent or a small piece of your floor is already enough! We travel mostly by hitch-hiking. Although it spares us some money, it also brings us to meet local people during the lift, which can sometimes bring us in many crazy adventures! In that way, most of our budget goes into food and drinks, which allows us to fulfill two of our greatest pleasures: good eating and partying! You can count on us if you'd like to go out for a drink (or several) or to do some delicious home-cooking during our stay. We are not the best cook, but we love the activity, haha :-) Be ready to taste our dishes cooked with beer!

~~As Hosts~~
We'll try to be the best host for you. We'll help you to discover the city if you're interested in it, we'll give you beer (belgian beer!), a comfortable place to sleep and food, we'll talk to you and share our respective experiences, we'll party and hopefully we'll become good friends :-)

Interests

Elliot loves music. Every kind of music. He plays guitar and other instruments. He will always be interested in a little jam session and would love to listen to or dance on music with his guests or hosts!

Lolo loves to draw and paint with aquarelle. She'll show you some of her drawings (if you ask kindly haha) and she will always be interested in a litlle drawing workshop with her guests or hosts!

We love reading and cinema. In fact, we're quite interested in every kind of arts in general. We also like cooking, cycling, biking, swimming, snorkeling, diving, hiking, skiing, climbing and partying, dancing, drinking. All those activities can be mixed greatly with travelling. If you would like to do any of those with us during our visit or your stay at our place, we would be delighted!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We've seen many many amazing things during our trips, it would take a whole night to tell you all our stories. Okay, let's give you a short one by country we've visited:

- Thailand: Hitch-hiking and getting invited to a funeral among Mon people (ethnic minority) only to discover that their funeral actually consists in a 24-hour drinking party around the coffin.
- Laos: Getting lost in the jungle hiking without water for 2 hours to finally reach a very remote tiny village where a family welcomed us to eat with them and sleep there. We survived!
- Cambodia: Most hardcore hitchhiking ever. Three hours at the back of a pick-up, 100kmh on a completely destroyed road, off the map, in the middle of nowhere. Our butts still remember it!
- Myanmar: 5 days hitchhiking in the mountains of the Chin State to pay a visit to our Yangon host's amazing grandmother. The area was just opened to tourists so we were some of the first foreign people they ever saw there.
- China : Getting the longest ride (30 hours with one truck, 1800 km) + longest hitch-hiking from Mongolia to Guangzhou through Qinghai and Sichuan Tibetan provinces (2 weeks, 6500 km)
- Vietnam: Buying a motorbike in Saigon, driving it for two months all around the country before selling it in Hanoi. Gavin been adopted by a vietnamese family and (Lolo) being maid of honor at the daughter's wedding.
- Mongolia: Meeting the best Mongolian people, a family that brews its own home-made beer. Going snowboarding and car-drifting on the snow and drinking the best mongolian beer for two days in a row!

Teach, Learn, Share

Elliot can teach some tricks at the guitar .
Lolo can teach some drawing and painting tricks.
We can teach our beer cooking!
We can also give you tips on how to travel cheaply and how to hitchhike.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking for you and taking good care of your place. We clean dishes and floor after using them, can wash your clothes with ours and hang/fold them for you ;-) We're glad to help for anything!

- Help Mint and Mark with their english teaching class in Thailand
- Play Music with blind people at Kaka's mother school in Vietnam
- Take care of Friedor's baby while his wife writes her thesis in Myanmar
- Help Matt to organize the party for his village in Philippines
- Break the ice of a frozen river to fetch water for Ayush's grandmother in Mongolia
- Drink with all the wedding guests with Ngan in Vietnam (at her parent's request!)
