About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be remembered!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Southern California. I just graduated from college with a degree in political science and English. I was admitted to graduate school for the fall 2012 semester, but I've decided to defer until I can figure out my life.

When I was in high school, I studied abroad in Hong Kong... somehow, that lead to my decision to do another exchange in Brazil when I was an undergraduate. I guess ever since that first experience I've been trying to get to know the world as much as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

I really think that listening has become an underrated behavior in our society. While it is perfectly fine to have one's own view, in order to think critically, you must be able to understand what the other person is trying to tell you and be able to contrast it against your own. That is only possible if you are able to listen!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosted once so far, and I'm about to be hosted a second time (June 2012).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted by a CouchSurfer in Ouro Preto, Brazil; a beautiful town just outside of Belo Horizonte. It was a great experience for me as my host was really friendly and showed me around. I knew after that that I would much rather stay with a local and experience life as they do than stay in a hotel and do touristy things.
