ABOUT ME

I'm pretty much a happy-go-lucky, extroverted idealist always keen to hear, see or perhaps even tell (or document) a good story. Cliched as it sounds, I think we need to be activists now if we want a quality of life now and in the future, so I try to do my bit. I love a good chat, am attempting to become a less-than-amateur photographer, and enjoy film-making, playing music, writing and being open to new ideas.

PHILOSOPHY

That I still have a lot to learn and teaching, travelling, really listening to people and attempting to become a more empathetic person, capable of both understanding perspectives and being confident in my own (after careful deliberation), might have some positive impact on my life experience, those around me and the biosphere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am still pretty new to couch surfing so am not entirely sure how I participate...a guess time will tell.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very little - I hosted a couple in Chaing Mai, but have only just decided to get back into it.

Interests

Movies, singing and playing various musical instruments, documentaries, photography, anything to do with being in or near water (scuba diving, free diving, swimming, surfing, standing next to a lake etc.), ideas, social progress, volunteering, activism, adventure sports, books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving at 35 metres surrounded by schooling Grey Whaler sharks, Silver Tip sharks, Hammerhead sharks and pristine reef.

Film making skills, Photography skills, ideas sharing (e.g. I am a huge fan of TED.com), philosophy, effective forms of activism.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A beautiful place with lots of fruit, good chats, the odd (musical) jam and many dvds...and I love to cook.
