I am a 23 year old American undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh, studying English Literature and History. I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, lived in San Antonio, Texas for a year, and then came to study in the UK. While I've been here, I've met incredible people from all around the world, and I've been able to travel quite a bit, including 2 months around Europe this summer!

I love traveling and plan to keep doing it all my life. I have had only good experiences with couchsurfing, whether hosting or staying with someone else. I always find that couchsurfers are friendly and genuine people who share a spirit of adventure and wonder at the world.

Intereses

Aside from my degree subjects of English and History, I am keenly interested in politics, whether international or domestic, and art, be it painting, drawing, architecture, music or theatre. These two things--art and politics--are also great motives to travel!

Música, películas y libros

I've been listening to a lot of jazz from the 40s-60s these days, especially Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Nina Simone, Herbie Hancock, and Chet Baker. But I'm certainly interested in contemporary music, from rock to rap, as well as the beautiful classical music of people like Debussy and Chopin.

Algo increíble que he hecho

This summer, my friend and I were in the town of Mostar in Bosnia. There is an old 16th ce Ottoman bridge there, and it is 26 metres above the river below it (Google it, it's beautiful!) After some training from the local Diving Club and a few practice jumps, he and I jumped the 26m into the river. Pretty crazy adrenaline rush, and something that will stick with me forever. Plus, we're now lifelong members of the diving club!
