À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to meet awesome new people and help show my amazing kid the world. I’m also an environmentalist working to protect land and water and provide communities with access to nature in the Rochester NY region.
ABOUT ME
Some of the stuff in this profile was created when I was 23 and “threw my life away to live in a van and go to Burning Man.” Well, I’m 40 now and it’s been an adventure that continues unfolding.
I’m a single parent, non-binary/gender fluid and queer. I’m an extrovert recovering from the strangeness of socializing in Covid. I’m fully vaccinated and will respect your safety protocols - I do find it hard to sleep with a mask on if that’s what you need.
I genuinely want to meet people through Couch Surfing and have always had a great experience through this platform (long ago before the kid) and also through my Burning Man community. I don’t get to travel as much as I used to, and my budget has tightened a lot since I moved from working in the Bay Area pimping tech to working in Rochester NY trying to save the planet.
I work for a non-profit called Genesee Land Trust - and I’m happy to tell you/take you to beautiful nature in the area. You can also borrow my kayak.
I’m an amateur painter - mostly Plein air and dabble at portraits of my kid - and I love to cook but often don’t make time to do it. Having company encourages me to make the time.
“Our individuality is all, all, that we have. There are those who barter it for security, those who repress it for what they believe is the betterment of the whole society, but blessed in the twinkle of the morning star is the one who nurtures it and rides it in, in grace and love and wit, from peculiar station to peculiar station along life's bittersweet route.”

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have couch and a guest bedroom. Happy to make you pancakes, provide clean towels and offer a cup of tea or coffee. If I’m cooking I’ll feed you. Also looking to connect with people around the world as I plan adventures for my little family of me and my child. Sometimes my sweet hypoallergenic dog Sugar.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After college I backpacked through Europe solo for 2 months. Did the hostel thing, and was lucky enough to be adopted briefly by families in France and Italy. Then I put my life in a car and drove across the country, with a stop at Burning Man before living in San Francisco for 4 years. On my way, I surfed on a couple couches and had the pleasure of hosting many great folks in the Bay Area. I haven’t hosted any couch surfers in Rochester yet.
Centres d'intérêt
I love meeting new people, traveling around the world, cooking, reading, trying new things, singing off key and making my kid laugh. I’m passionate about art, love being in nature, am a dog lover and am always happiest when I’m growing in some way.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
It’s faster to say what I don’t enjoy. I don’t like violent stuff. I don’t like conservative racist propaganda bullshit. Otherwise, I’m open to exploring recommendations.
I have a high degree of novelty neurons so love trying new things.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I’ve driven - and moved - across the US 5x. I took my kiddo to Burning Man when they were 3. I’ve helped raise $$ to save wildlife habitat. One just wasn’t enough…
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I’m happy to cook for you if we have time, happy to hang out or give you space as you prefer, and I might paint an ok picture of you or your trees. :)
