Overview
About Me
I'm taking a gap year before graduate school - I spent 3 months traveling in South America, now 3 months in Europe.
Open to anything! Just trying to branch out from hostels and see cities from a local's perspective. It's easy (and fun) to meet fellow travelers, but harder to meet people who can show you the true flavor of their city.
I've done a decent amount of traveling, but always stayed in hostels or with friends before. A cousin of mine has used Couchsurfing all over the world and highly recommended it to me... so here I am!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've traveled a good bit, but always stayed in hostels or with friends. My cousin recommended Couchsurfing as a way to find friends in cities you don't have them yet.
Interests
I'm a big sports fan (American football, baseball, basketball, but also soccer - zlatan is my favorite player).
I'm happy to talk about anything, from sports, to politics, to philosophy.
I would love to learn how to make a local meal, have you fix my pronunciation of basic phrases in your language - mostly just hang out and get to know people!
- wine
- beer
- drinking games
- movies
- board games
- hiking
- sports
- soccer
- stand up comedy
- jokes
- talking
- game of thrones
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm partial to classic rock (Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen), but can appreciate most genres.
I love the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the book), and am just starting 100 years of Solitude.
Two of my favorite movies are Airplane! and The Departed, but there are too many others to list. From Anchorman to 2001: A Space Odyssey, I enjoy many different types.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked Roy's Peak in Wanaka, New Zealand - the best view I've ever had.
And I recently visited the reflective Uyuni Salt Flats. They are truly spectacular. Add them to the top of your bucket list immediately.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a lot of (generally bad) jokes, and know a fair amount about math and physics.
I'd love to learn to cook a bit better.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation, a drinking buddy, a fellow sports fan, a case of beer, an annoying number of jokes
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
