I am a teacher by trade. I have lived the past 6 years abroad, teaching at first in Romania with the Peace Corp, and thereafter in Istanbul, Turkey until last summer. I was married in April 2015 to my lovely wife Işık, who is a Turkish national. More than likely I will be travelling exclusively with her. We both have goals to see as much of the world as possible, however big and beautiful it may be.

I use all different forms of stay while traveling. In the past I have used hostels because they offered great opportunities to meet with other people on the road who shared similar interest to me. I also found a ready sense of community in a safe environment. Now that I'm back in America I know that we have less hostels and so I think Couchsurfing would be a decent substitute.
