About Me
Hello:) Well, I'm Elmira, passionate about travelling 🌏
Since I started working online, I have been on the road for almost 2 years now, I guess I can now call myself as a “digital nomad” 👩🏻💻
53 countries visited by now and still counting 🌏
Also doing a PhD in International Journalism 👩🏻🎓
I’m open to new adventures, if you have any travel plans, I most probably would be keen to join :)
I always say to myself “wherever the wind takes me and see how it goes”
I’m currently back to Europe and visiting the countries I haven’t been before, so the plan for upcoming two months to visit at least 10 new countries in Europe.
I prefer to stay closer to nature, so open to hikes, camping or simply driving around national parks 🏞️
One of my dreams is to get a camper-van and drive around New Zealand or Australia:)
Originally, I’m from Kazakhstan (we usually call it as the heart of Eurasia or the land of great steppes) if you are interested in learning more about Central Asia, feel free to message me, would be happy to share information about culture, traditions or must visit places, travel tips :) And yes, I’m very used to Borat jokes, especially people saying “my wiiifee” (make a Borat’s voice here 😂)
Jokes aside, trust me Kazakhstan is really cool place, I promise 😉
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Main goal is to meet new people and have friends all around world :) CS made me amazing friends :) and surely I’m always happy to make new ones during my journey 😀
Interests
Interested in outdoor activities, hiking, camping, almost everything related to nature, I enjoy martial arts (especially Jiu Jitsu, before did taekwondo) and surely open to new hobbies :)
Usually, when I travel I enjoy going to theme parks and aqua parks (this makes my inner child happy 😃)
Enjoy museums/historical sites/walking tours etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Deep house, melodic techno, edm, alternative rock, been to couple of heavy metal concerts and tbh really enjoyed it:) usually up for Music Festivals :)
Books: world classic and romantic/sort of drama books (usually spend my time reading and don’t limit myself by specific genres, also open to recommendations as long as I learn something new
Movies: a box of 🍿 and good movie that’s what I usually remember after watching something. Have more than 20 favourite movies and can’t list them :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I personally think that life is full of opportunities and being brought to this life is already a great step. But also one of the most exciting things which made me feel happy about myself were: diving (I have deep water fear), rafting on a kayak (I flew away but survived 😁), I did bungee jumping 3 times, paragliding, 4 days hike in Georgian mountains (Mestia region) where I tried to save a puppy floating on the fast river, walked on the glacier (without realising it was actually a glacier until i started to hear the ice breaking and huge stones flying around, was pretty brutal), got stuck under the hail storm during the hike on attitude of 2700 meters (those 30 minutes were 🤪), did a rock climbing (35m) 🧗♀️ As I always say: life is full of surprises so I hope this list will never end :)
Was a part of Erasmus+ in Romania in 2018 (holy moly great times, lol), also did another exchange program in Turkey in 2014 (okay times, jokeee)
Teach, Learn, Share
CS is a great opportunity to meet like minded people :) I enjoy deep conversations about everything and anything. I want others to be heard and usually this makes me a good listener. Also, I respect other people’s point of views and learn something new for myself too :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cultural exchange, sharing the knowledge and life experiences:)
