About Me

Hi I'm Elodie, 36, English and Drama Teacher in the suburbs of Paris.
I'm an optimistic, easy-going person, enjoying life as everybody I think : going out with friends, hearing plays, reading, swimming etc... and travelling as soon as I can.
I love my family, friends and job, but now travelling has become one of the most important goals of my life. Took a backpack last year and went through Argentina, Chile and Paraguay for 6 months, starting again in February 2018 for 6 months in Mexico, Guatemala and wherever the wind will take me !
NOT AVAILABLE BETWEEN FEBRUARY AND AUGUST 2018 INCLUDED

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because even if I decided to travel by myself, it doesn't mean I want to be alone. I really want to meet new people and learn about the world through their eyes and words. I love books, but they can never be as true as the people I'll meet during my travels.
Moreover, Couchsurfing is a great way to realize that people are still generous and willing to offer help in exchange for friendship and communication. That's a great relief in a more and more self-centered world. Thanks !

Music, Movies, and Books

I studied English literature, so I would say that Shakespeare holds a great place in my heart, but I am also a drama teacher so, almost every kind of plays is a great pleasure for me. Especially mythological ones.
I also wrote a thesis on Peter Pan !
I almost never go to the movies but I'm fond of Mary Poppins, The Usual Suspects, The Nightmare before Christmas. I love watching movies, I just never take the time to do it.
Finally, Rock music is the best for me. From the beginning of rock and soul, to electro rock with Ghinzu, I love most of it. I go to festivals twice a year to discover new bands. Generally speaking, everything that has a good rythm is great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just can't pick one, but I'll always remember Mount Roraïma in Venezuela. It was the first time I felt I was looking at something my eyes had never seen before, not even on TV. I spent two weeks on the Easter Island, fulfilling a childhood dream. I walked among penguins in Patagonia.
Oh, and I went to a Michael Jackson concert when I was 15. Amazing and unforgettable !

Teach, Learn, Share

I am talkative, I could share about everything I have lived in French and English and now Spanish, and I'm eager to listen to other people's experiences. Learning is fantastic and so inspirationnal.
I generally trust people, I love taking care of animals, I cook great Italian food because my dad is Italian and my grandma taught me to cook the best risotto.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations, laughters, recipes, books, experiences... as long as it is respectful and constructive. Oh and obviously, a glass of good wine !
