About Me
CURRENT MISSION
...and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived
ABOUT ME
Who am I? I guess the conventional way to describe myself would be to say that I'm a doctor from Switzerland, but that doesn't say anything about me. People who know me a little would say I'm curious, hyper-active, always lacking sleep, and slightly crazy. My friends will probably tell you that I'm more than just "a bit" crazy, that I have a serious coffee and salad addiction, that I'm imaginative, clumsy, incapable of doing only one thing at at time, messy, capable of retaining useless information about basically anything but incapable of remembering what I ate the day before, and always traveling, for real or in books.
PHILOSOPHY
Arg, I dislike the term "personal philosophy", I don't have "a" philosophy, I don't have answers, but I like searching for them and finding more questions... I hate days where I haven't learned anything, but they don't occur very often!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Have hosted and been hosted, and it has always been a pleasure and a discovery. I wish I could do it more often (which would mean travelling more and work less, so why not?)
Interests
Reading, philosophy, poetry, drawing, medicine, running, swimming (in the lake in winter, mainly),long distance hiking, climbing, cycling, travelling, sleeeeeping (that quickly becomes a hobby once you start night-shifts at the hospital), lazing on sunny afternoons, playing the piano, partying, and so many more

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh, no, I can't even start a list of favorite books (yet another serious addiction, this profile is becoming very AA-style!), I can't hope to be thorough, I'll just write the ones that come to my mind this minute, in no order whatsoever:
Nicolas Bouvier (everything!), J.M.G. Le Clézio, Jane Austen, the Brontë Sisters, Murakami, Dickens, Louise Erdrich, Laurent Mauvignier, Yoko Ogawa, Christiane Singer, Collum McCann, Oscar Wilde, Bernard Giraudeau, Kessel, Doris Lessing, David Lodge, Virginia Woolf, John Irving, Tolstoi, Dostoïevski, Garcia Marquez and so many more...
And it's the same with music, from Chopin to electroswing, from led Zeppelin and classical Rock to folk music, from Jazz to Bach, everything!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've taken baths with elephants, I've seen the sun rise over the Baltic See, I went canoeing amongst crocodiles in a boat full of leaches (ok, this was more amazing after it was finished than on the moment), I've worked with lepers in India, I've trekked in the Himalayas, and I wish I'll do or live so many more
What I Can Share with Hosts
A practical knowledge of "What-to-do-in-Geneva-on-a-student-budget" (a.k.a survival strategy in an expensive city)
A beer or two!
A couch (amazingly enough!)/sofa-bed/matress
Some time to hang out, depending on my - slightly busy - schedule
