Hi everybody! My name is Elona, but you can call me Elo!
I was born and raised in Italy from two Albanian parents. I’ve always been interested in different cultures so that’s why I immersed myself in the study of foreign languages as English, French and German complemented by Italian and Albanian, my two native language!!
I love to learn about people, their cultures, ideas, opinions, interests and also to share mines!
3 years ago I decided to become an au pair since I thought it was the best way to live the real American life with a real family and at the same time to travel around the country!
I’m so grateful I decided to do that since now I have also 2 amazing families in the US. I was lucky enough to become the big sister that I’ve never been before since I’m an only child and to discover the world again through the innocent eyes of kids of different ages.
Before the pandemic I got to travel around the west coast, national parks and I was lucky enough to explore Alaska and to see with my eyes the northern lights!
As you probably noticed I love traveling, but I also love music, art, good wine, deep conversations and nice movies and books.
I grew up in a little town in the north of Italy, in the region of Parmigiano reggiano and prosciutto di Parma, Ferrari, Balsamic vinegar, lasagne, tortelli and other amazing things!
I lived 1 year in Seattle and I literally fell in love with WA state, but now I’ve been living in NYC since almost 2 years and I love the energy that this city gives you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is one of the coolest things I’ve discovered since I’m in the US, I’ve met amazing people during my trips by myself or with my friends and I can’t wait to become someby who hosts once I’m gonna be back in Italy!

My favorite singer ever is an Italian singer, Tiziano Ferro, but I also love Blink 182, Coldplay, Beyoncé and lately I’ve really been into indie music.
As movies I love “Marley and Me” (I know it’s sad but come on, isn’t it the sweetest movie ever???), I also love Christmas movies, I would watch them in August too

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I decided to leave my comfort zone, my home country as a young woman and to discover what the world had to offer to me! I can’t wait to see what’s next!
